Aramex Says We Must Phone Them
I booked Aramex for my Auction: https://www.trademe.co.nz/MyTradeMe/PurchaseSummary.aspx?asid=229525775&isBuyer=False
They have not picked up the parcel.
So the Trader who won the auction rang them.
Aramex told him that I am required to ring Aramex to organise PickUp!
So it seems that we not only need to book Aramex on TradeMe - but we MUST also phone them to organise pick-up!!!
-
1 -
So the message from TradeMe is pretty clear ... "The courier will pick up the package on Mon 27 Nov".
I gather (according to Aramex Customer Service) that TradeMe now needs to change this message to ... "You must phone Aramex to organise Pick Up"

You do not need to ring Aramex to pick up,
when you book they will get notifications for the pick up,
sometimes they are short of drivers etc. so pick up may be delayed, depending what area you are in,
I use Aramex, and have no issues with them, my parcels picked up as normal about 30mins ago,
use this link to find your driver,
https://www.aramex.co.nz/courier-locator/
Their phone number maybe there to ask them, as you were missed yesterday, they may have not received the notification,

I understand all that flossy.
BUT they did not pick up.
On ringing them they told both myself and separately the Buyer that I must phone them to organise pick-up.
I also spoke a few weeks back (and this morning I phoned him) to my Aramex Courier driver and he is a nice guy - and he says as soon as he gets a voucher to pick up - he does.I had, then, 5 parcels to pick-up - but he had only 2 vouchers so only could take 2 of them! I ended up then resending using NZPost as I could not get Aramex to pick them up.
SO you say all that flossy - but for many of us that is NOT what is happening in practice.
3 -
And PS I have my courier's phone number. I rang him this morning. He told me that HE DID NOT have a voucher for pick-up and still did not. SO my courier has not missed the pick-up.

Finally the word "voucher" is his. He says he gets vouchers for pick-up.

So in conclusion:
Aramex says I must phone them to organise pick-up
My Aramex Courier says that when he does get a voucher for pick-up - he does pick-up
So the status on TradeMe is incorrect as I stated - it should state "You must phone Aramex to organise Pick Up"
Apparently you must have some sort of "Automation" flag in place whereby you dont need to phone them.
Apparently they do NOT treat all TradeMe customers the same

It is possible you are in one of the Problem areas,
You do not have to ring for pick up when you book the courier, they get notifications for the pick ups, FACT.
in an invent where parcel was not picked up, you will need to ring them to organize a ...."RE".. PICK UP,.....
not the actual pick up, after it has been booked,
I have used them from day one when Book a Courier came into being with Trade Me,
and have no issues like you seem to have,
it seems your courier maybe the issue, language barrier? as Vouchers, i.e. meaning electronic voucher / notification to pick up, as I said above,
they do not get Vouchers as such, they get online notifications, which I have heard being referred to before as vouchers in a different non courier issue too,
Just ask your courier if he can please pick up your parcel as it seems he did not get the notification,
and I think you are in panic mode, ok so not picked up yesterday it may get picked up today or tomorrow,
just relax leave it a day or so, then contact them, I have been missed on an occasion, just bring parcels in put them out next day, One time van broke down, another time relief driver missed a few pick ups in area, it happens,
even other couriers have same issues too, not just Aramex,

You are ignoring what I am saying and I also do not appreciate lectured about how I post. Are you the police?
No point having this conversation with you given that you are clearly a share holder with Aramex.
And amongst ALL THE POINTS YOU MISSED. I spoke to the courier this morning. He does not have a voucher for pick-up. So he cannot pick-up.
This is my TOPIC - not yours. So if you are going to contribute then please read what I have to say and do not ignore it.

Hi Mark. Your buyer may have got the wrong end of the stick when they called aramex or perhaps info got a bit mixed up. Once you have made the booking it is all automated and online and the online message is sent to the courier via trade me.
Aramex often take a few days to pick up and it is frustrating for both buyer and seller. IF they don't pick up after 3 days or so that is definitely the time for the seller to call them and ask what is going on. IF the problem continues and you can contact trace me via 'Contact Us' bottom of the page and get them to help you cancel the order and get your fees back. Looks like you did have to do that. Really annoying I know.
Flossy63 is just trying to help and has the knowledge to do so. The message board is a place for all buyers and sellers to share info and try to help each other.

I know they can't, but it would be nice if Trademe would somehow put up big warnings for Aramax if you happen to live in a "problem area". Perhaps if customer numbers dropped off a cliff in those areas Aramax would actually do something about them.
Same thing could be done with NZ Post if there are certain areas that have constant and on going problems.

Kia Ora Michael,
You can look Aramex problem areas up anytime via their .nz website through Aramex New Zealand | Network Service Updates - Cheers.

Hi there Mark
I hate Aramex, they are less than pond scum as far as I am concerned.
How long has been? If you are sick of waiting, and worried about your customer, you could just take the parcel to the Aramex depot yourself and drop it off. Up to, but if you look at the time you have invested in this so far, just taking it yourself might be a good way to cut your losses, you would also have the pleasure of throwing your toys out of the cot when you got there. (Just don't go so far as to get yourself trespassed).

Its now three days. I actally have two parcels waiting for Aramex - and they are still waiting here. I work from home, so I am here with them all day,
I called them the day before yesterday and they promised they would take care of it that day. But no sign of them.
Good point re taking them to the depot - I may just have to and then I can throw a tanty. The depot is in Penrose and i am in Papakura so a bit of a drive.
If the courier does not turn up today - I wll take the parcels into their depot tomorrow.
Really appreciate your response Simon - that was very helpful.

Mark, Aramex also have agents and your nearest is Papakura Paper power 223 Great South Road. You may want to give them a call and see if it's ok to drop off to them.

Oh - brilliant! Thanks Gary I will do that.Won't be able to throw a tanty at them though ... :)

Aramax is a complete joke I’m a customer of sellers that use them for receiving orders that should take no more than two days from Auckland to Taranaki. I wait over a week even though I pay top dollar for delivery. New Zealand post from Auckland to me overnight no argument. New Zealand couriers overnight no hassles New Zealand post haste two days but still no hassles. To be honest to I was refunded my purchase price because I refused to give aramax my phone number. Database sales for a quick buck. Sorry if any sellers are using aramax please note in your listings because I will not buy from you. It’s not you. But a company that has a bad reputation for being late and demanding
4 -
Well my two boxes have STILL not been picked up. The question I ask is how can TradeMe do business with them when they are so bad?
3 -
I totally agree. How can any business work with a company that says this. Trademe notifies them for pick up as you said earlier so my personal advice is to use a new company that has good history

MarkEdited
So a whole week has passed. I have rang Aramex every day. Every day they have promised the courier will urgently pick up the parcel. When I rang yesterday and explained what had happened every day - they assured me that the courier will pick up the parcel yesterday. But as with every single day - no courer turned up.
The two parceld are still here.
Those of you who defend Aramex are ignoring the gross issues that many of us face with this dispicable company!
How TradeMe can do business with thse people I do not understand. As far as I am concerned this is as much a reflection on TradeMe. I have decided that I am no longer going to use TradeMe. These auctions are my last auctions ever.
Choose your business partners better TradeMe. Also the way you trim so much money of our auctions and STILL leave us to fight with your chosen busines partners is ridiculous.
Watch this space - my only TradeMe a/c will soon be closed. Good bye.

BTW these are the tracking numbers: JJ00-
0083- 5247 and JJ00- 0083- 5246 The TradeMe Website says: "The courier will pick up the package on Mon 27 Nov".
WONG TradeMe!!!!
Perhaps at the very least change the message to "The courier probably will not pick up the package on Mon 27 Nov".

In fact I am not going to take these parcels to their depot. I DO NOT TRUST ARAMEX AT ALL. I am rebooking the parcels with NZ Post. I wish all of NZ would put this company out ot business.
Btw many of their customer service operators have a very poor understanding of English. I was not able to talk with them so the conversation was reduced to basics ... "Parcel pick up - now" ...
1 -
I’ve complained about parcels not delivered on time. Here people complain about not having parcels pickup as required. I rang aramax to seek a parcel that hadn’t arrrived I got told the system was down. So I placed a complaint with the company and received a call telling me they didn’t like complaint from no bodies like me. Laughing as the hang up. So from now on if I see my parcel is coming via aramax I shall cancel my orders. A company that cannot own up to better business awareness needs to be put out of business all together. If I were a risher man I most certainly would be seeing them in court for the phone call at least. Unbelievable a company in this day and age can get away with this kind of behaviour

Agreed Murray! And yes, this reflects directly on TradeMe. I am taking a stand and will be closing my TM a/c - as soon as I have used the credit from my Aramex courier refund.
I implore other's to also close their TM a/cs. Lets stand in solidarity until TM gets the message and ditches Aramex.
2 -
MarkEdited
The message to TM is "Ditch Aramex and we will stay" - that can be our slogan. Yell it from the roof tops. All of my family members, cousins etc use TradeMe. Some of them will close their TM a/cs. They have ALL already stopped using Aramex.
I will reach out to friends and associates on Facebook and LinkedIn. I will Twitter it everywhere.
I am curious about how much of an impact one person can have. So this is going to be a project for me over the next few months. I will find ways to spread this.
Btw I work in Software/Websites - so I know how to make things go viral ...
And whomever reads this - please get on board. Spread the message and take action. We can all show TM about a thing called Customer Power.

Just because you have a problem in your area, you cannot judge the company as a whole, because it seems to be your courier that is the issue,
I have used them for years with no issues, they are great in our Area, where other couriers are not,
All Couriers have same issues in different areas, as it manly comes down to drivers who own their franchise,
But throwing your toys out of the cot and closing your account is not the way to behave,
You will find a good percentage of Trade Me sellers prefer and use Aramex, with no issues,
and a question?, have you rung your Local depot for help or just used the 0800 number?,
as ringing your local depot gets the best results, because they can personally talk to your driver, and sort the problem of your driver not getting notification / electronic vouchers, as sometimes they do go to wrong drivers whom just ignore them,
at the end of the day it was your choice to use them, when you could have just used NZ Post?,

All of my communications - every single day - have been to 09 634 3704 !!!
Makes no difference.

I also asked to speak to a supervisor - which I did. Still no difference. No one turned up. They say stuff - but nothing happens.

Ditch Aramex and we will stay

I have been waging a one man war on Aramex for long time, and I know I have cost them thousands, by using other carriers, like Pack and Send, as well as getting other people to check out their google reviews (have a look at the google reviews for the Christchurch Branch - but dont do it before bed time, it will give you nightmares), to spread the word about how horrific this company is.
The sad thing, is that generally their drivers do try hard, (I have seen exceptions here as well, like turning up at 5 am and then complaining that there was no one around to collect the parcel from). The problems seem to be at the dispatch/office level, in Christchurch anyway - but there also seem to be problems at their sorting facilities at other sites.
If I was a Trade Me manager or executive I would be absolutely LIVID with Aramex, Trade Me have endorsed them, and they continue to let down Trade Me customers.
