Ping payment
How long does it take for Ping payment to show in bank account? Been 4 days now & nothing showing. You're quick at taking money, but slow at paying out, especially when there's a fee we pay.

Hi Lenny. Is this your first time using ping? Can you confirm you have requested the transfer? Or activated automatic daily transfers? If it is your first use of ping this post might help.......

I would first check your ping statement to confirm the transfer has happened, which will give you the time and date also. Then make sure your linked bank account is all fine and correct etc. If there is still no payment by end of day consider contacting Trade Me directly to see if they can trace what happened.

Kia Ora Lenny,
I note you said you have done a Manual transfer out of your Ping balance to your Bank account - Have you selected the automatically transfer Ping balance for future payments to be made? - This can only be done through the Desktop site.

Kia ora Lenny. You made a withdrawal on Monday after 6pm, so that would've been transferred to your bank account the following afternoon and should've cleared by now. If the money still isn't showing, please contact your bank. You can also use Chat to speak to one of our agents if you would like some further help with this.

Kia Ora Agnes,
Do you mean the payment is not showing in your Ping account balance Or the payment is not showing in your Bank account?
If Bank account have you set up the transfer Ping balance to your Bank account?
-
You go through 'My TradeMe' -> Manage Ping -> Transfer out - to set the bank account to transfer out to up. TM will put .01cent into your chosen bank account with a code - TM Trust & Safety will email you for this code so they are assured the account is correct, await that email once you've set up the Transfer out to account, reply with the code in your Bank statement next to the 0.1cent.You can set up Automatic or Manual transfers out - Refer to Ping account for further info'.
If you are referring to your Ping account you will want to contact TradeMe staff through "Live Chat" for assistance
- Select the Contact us link at the very bottom of TradeMe pages
- Select the Chat Tab which comes up in blue at the bottom right of your screen,
- Enter in the Chat bot which appears - Talk to person - you will be taken to entering your details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff.
- The manned hours weekdays are 9:30:am - 5:00pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pm

Kia Ora Billy,
As answered in your other Post question - I am adding it here also for others that may see this thread with same question.
As in my Comment above - a 4 digit code will be placed with the 1 cent which has appeared in your Bank account - Keep an eye on your Emails for one from the TradeMe Trust & Safety Team requesting that code - Reply to that email with the code which verifies to TM they have the correct Bank account for your Ping deposits - Your transferred payment amount(s) will be made following that.
I understand you have replied to an email requesting your personal details - did this email also ask for the code? - if not you will be expecting a separate email - Cheers.

ok, i have found the 4 diit code witin the payment details of the 1 cent.
the only email from TradeMe Trust & Safety Team was requesting i provide personal data to IDscan within cloudcheck. I replied to this 3 days ago and have yet to recieve a responce. no the email did not ask for the code.

Cheers Billy,
Keep your eyes peeled for that email requesting the code - this is a one off process of verification, you won't be asked to provide it again unless Trust & Safety notice unusual activity within your account - Further payments transferred from Ping to your Bank should be seamless - you're nearly there 😊
If you haven't heard by mid week next week you can contact TradeMe staff through their "Live Chat" facility to nudge this along and you can always come back here for further support & direction.

Please explain why I have paid $230 odd dollars in selling fees, plus buyers put money into Ping not by my choice and I still get hit with another $15.03 in fees. Absolutely atrocious money hungry trademe. Please explain as I have not approved these fees let alone made the choice of my money going into Ping.

Kia Ora Anthony,
If you go to your Account Statement page you will see what the $230. in fee's relates to.
Ping as a payment option is ticked by default on the Price & Payment page when creating a new listing - you can unselect this option when creating your Listing(s) & you can edit your existing Listing(s) to remove this option if you don't wish to have Ping as an option. - Ping is a preferred Buyer option as it comes with the security of Buyer Protection.Once the money is in your Ping account it is yours so you send the goods paid for out to the Buyer who has paid you. - The Ping payments can be used to Top up your TradeMe account, Help pay for purchases Or transferred out daily to your Bank account if you chose this option - you can also manually transfer the money out to your Bank account.Refer to the Help file Ping account – Help - Trade Me for further information - Cheers.0 -
What a joke, just another rip off and as you say once the money is in my ping account it’s all mine. Fact is it’s not all mine cause you put ya mitts out again for more money, once you take your portion again then it’s mine. Why don’t you make it a selection for the person selling to select it not other way around already selected to unselect. Another money making scheme, dishonest and plain cheeky.

S Community SuperuserThis is the community forum you are on here, we are members of TradeMe just like yourself - we are not TradeMe staff. This community forum is in place for all members to help each other where we can in navigating the system, providing helpful tips and workarounds.Ping was indeed a Seller's choice to select originally, TradeMe have changed it to be the Default as they say it is the preferred option of Buyers for the Buyer Protection Policy. - I hear you and this decision has upset alot of Members, you're not on your own with that. - Meantime remember to un-select it when you create a New Listing - Cheers.0

I received $980 in Ping account by selling a sewing machine . I transferred it out to my bank account on Monday,22nd jul. i received $0.01 on 23rd jul. why didn’t I receive the whole amount till now, 24th Jul?
Two days now. Could you please let me know where is my money?Whatever Ping payment is. It doesn’t seem to work great for us. It doesn’t make the service better but worse. It seems immediately paid as soon as the purchase is confirmed. But the seller has to pay 1.95% . why? I did not ask this service. I was not told there was a fee. Honestly is it legal to take people’s money this way?
And plus I would not get my money into my bank (which I can use )when the buyer has already received what she paid for. I don’t think it is fair trade for seller. Imagine if I sold my stuff for financial emergency, how this Ping payment method helps me.0 -

Hi Julie. This is usual for your first Ping transaction. You should have an email there from Trade Me which asks you to reply to them with the code that appears on the Ping 1c transaction. This confirms to Trade Me that you are the registered owner of the account. After all that is confirmed your payment can be transferred. You only need to do this once, and from then on all Ping transfers happen the same day or day after.
Acceptance of Ping payments is done via a tick box when you made your listing. It is ticked by default. If you don't want to accept Ping, you have to untick it.

Read messages here. Find out that I am not the only one did not receive money from Ping account. I am an accountant. My question is where the money has gone to when it is neither in the Ping account, nor in our bank account. Two days, four days……some clever people can make a lot of profit every day by using other people’s money.

Hi Callum
I don’t think it is right to tick Ping payment by default. Especially trademe charging customers a fee is definitely rip off. It is very similar with some internet cheating. People usually would not mind how to be paid as long as being paid before sending their stuff out. That is why we did not look at so-call the payment method options. 80%+ trademe account users would not know what Ping payment is.You say we only need to confirm our account once. Honestly I don't like it. I worry that I will forget untick it next time. This will happen again. Most people casually selling stuff make lose. 7.9% fee is already very high. People would look for other way to sell.

Hi Julie. I would probably dispute that 80% of people don't know what Ping is. I would say more like 80%+ do. Ping has been around since 2018, and from there is was pretty much just a name change from Paynow which preceded it. Perhaps you are not a very frequent Trade Me user. If you were I'm sure you would have come across it before.
Yes, no doubt TradeMe get a little clip of the ticket on the way through for Ping. But the fee also covers Buyer Protection. When you buy something and pay with Ping your purchase is protected. You can be refunded if there are issues with the item or the seller doesn't come through with delivery. You don't get that with a bank deposit.
As to where the money has gone, it is kept in a trust account. It is safe.
The 1.95% fee is pretty clearly shown to me. I've added what it looks like below when you make a listing. I added the highlight.

hi Callum
you explain a lot. But still did not tell me why trademe did not send me the email to confirm my bank account.
It shows 1-2 day for money appearing in my account. Now you are telling me that my money is in trust account. Three days now since I licked the bottom to transfer the money from Ping account to my bank account . The buyer has got the machine but I do not know how and when I can get my money. How good trade environment is for seller!https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/user_images/01J3J58PR2GWSMH6F82MFFJBJ1.jpeg
it doesn't tell who should pay the 1.95% fee . I did not see the information when I listed my machine. I am sure 100% people will say NO if they know that they have to pay 1.95% transaction fee.

Hello Julie, if your payment is still not there and you don't have any email there asking you to confirm the ping transaction I would consider contacting Trade Me via Live Chat.
Most people are aware of the Ping transaction fee. Everyone I know, including myself, are aware of the fee, and still offer Ping on their items for the benefits it provides. You just build that cost into your sale price. As an accountant I'm sure you are aware that the sale price of an item includes all manner of costs. Not just the cost price of the item for sale.

The Trade Me Live chat is not helping. I chatted with a machine there.

The Live chat ask me what refund request I am after. It doesn’t listen to what I am saying. I am not asking refund. I am asking how and when I can receive my money.

In Contact us page, There is no email address, no phone number , but only messages box. Except the person I am talking here, Trade Me don’t seem care of us

Hi Callum
I am sorry I can’t agree with you about the Ping’s value . I don’t think I would add price for it. I am an accountant , not a business man, I will try reducing the cost, not increasing price.0 -

Julie, in the chat window, type, talk to a human, and you'll be transferred to a real person.
