Yes, he is moving to a new server today and working to get up and working again.

There are certain auctions (seems to be the new format) where you can't even place a bid on "bid bud" as it states you can't due to new Trademe rules.Anyone else experiencing this ? Just tried logging on & the site is still down.

Site is working again, and i have now seen 2 auctions that will not allow me to setup a bid, why?
I certainly am not going to make a point of remembering when any auction finishes, so as to get online and watch it live, especially $1 reserves. Oh well just more stupid moronic changes, nothing new there, guess they do not care if auctions go unsold now, that otherwise would have, and others go for lower prices, as only those that are watching can bid. If i see it on more and more as time goes by, i will simply give up surfing listings anymore, rather than waste my time looking at random stuff, only to find that message. Most of the random spur of the moment items i buy, is via bid buds auto bidding, if that becomes no longer useful, so trademe also becomes, for anything other than planned purchase with a buy now, imo.

Hi everyone
I'm the developer of BidBud. I didn't even know these boards existed, stumbled across this completely by chance just now!
Apologies for yesterday's outage, my hosting provider had some serious issues, BidBud was down for 14 hours, that's never happened before. It came back at about 9:50pm last night.
As for the listings you can't bid on, Trade Me are making some big changes to their system, that will mean BidBud probably won't be around much longer. The random listings you can't bid on are the beginning of the end.

Thanks for the update andrew. That will be a real shame if so. Guess i will have to give up on my nightly surfing, using auto scroll while watching a movie etc, and only look at site at all, if i have something specific i want to buy.
No way am i going back to watching auctions live, or having to constantly click next page. These folk really are beyond belief, with the stupid changes they make.
Such is life, nothing ever remains the same, someone always has to muck things up, especially in these total woketard times we are currently experiencing.
Thanks for the years of great trading facilities you have provided.
Ps have just printed off all my blacklist pages, so i do not lose my comments as to why i did.
No way will i use autobid, as there is no way to change your mind once you have entered it (say i find another better item, but do not want to bid on both, or finances take an unexpected hit, or any of the thousands of possible reasons, that could happen between entering bid and auction closing - so therefore only a fool would enter more than the minimum bid, just incase.)

flossy63 Community SuperuserI am the same, auto bid on bid bud then no one knows you are even watching,if I asked a question on an auction and a member saw they would bid on that auction, and keep bidding to out bid me, this happened many times in my category, one day I was actually online when one was closing, I just kept upping my auto bid, they carried on to over $200, determined for me not to get it, once it reached that I said yep, you can have it now, was only worth about $45, would have made the sellers day, a couple of parts I really needed & not common, oh & if I won I would have paid up no problems, they have not done it again, expensive lesson learnt I think? Lol!I guess I will save even more money without Bid bud, as will not be placing early auto bids & will not be sitting here waiting until it nears closing, I forget what is on my watchlist until I get the won E-Mails, and it is oh, I forgot I had auto bid on that, Lol!,yes, I too have had a change of mind during a week and removed my auto bid, as found something better etc.as I browse latest listings so bid set up a week before they actually close,Yes, I will miss the Blacklist feature too, with comments, as too why?, and the filter,2

Hi Andrew. If you were to close down "Bid Bud" I would most certainly stop buying stuff on this site as your site is easy to follow & navigate.I use your site for everything including listing all my items. And being able to bid with the auto setup means you don't even have to be on line watching the auction live.I certainly won't be using the "auto-bid" feature on TradeMe as like many others I like to bid in the last ten minutes of a auction. Not seven days or whatever before an auction finishes.I find using TradeMe with all these so called new features hard work & with all the glitches puts me right off from viewing the site.I hope Andrew you are able to keep your site going as its so easy to use. It's been brilliant over the last few years I've been using it.

Andrew this is bad news. I am not sure why Trade Me is sabotaging its self and you? I am sure that you have brought a lot of business Trade Me's way through Bid Bud. It is counterintuitive. All the best to you. I will miss bid bud when its gone.

That’s dreadful news Andrew; Bidbud is the sole reason I am still active on TradeMe as I find the TM website absolutely impossible to navigate at all, never mind effectively :-( !
Whatever happens, please know that your work has been most important and hugely appreciated by many I’m sure, much respect to you and thank you, thank you, thank you !

Andrew I've been using Bidbud for quite a few years now both buying & selling, I really hope you can keep it going the TM site is a nightmare when trying to list items, & buying is so much easier with Bidbud.

I feel if Bidbud goes a lot of traffic will go too, as a lot of us use Bidbud for different things,
If it goes it could be end of Trade Me as we know it, too many have issues on new format, as non functional in a lot of areas, as I do too, some pages are just beyond a joke, and not user friendly at all, Bidbud is a backup platform,
Trade Me don't realize the damage they are causing to businesses on here, Some of us are just trying to put food on the table, but now it is an absolute struggle at times, with false watchers giving us false hope?,
Facebook is not an option for some of us, and even Facebook are clamping down on so called businesses & closing accounts, as the market place on there was meant for users to sell unwanted household items etc. This has even been in the news this year as some found accounts closed for this reason, one member that was here now disabled has always been selling her over 200+ books on Facebook avoiding fees and probably trying to avoid the IRD too?, but utilizing the book a courier on here?,

Thanks for the kind words guys
Trade Me let me know they've added a help page that explains a bit more about what's going on at their end.
We shall see what happens.

Hi Andrew,
Will you consider keeping the Bidbud running without the bidding features if that's easier? I mainly use your site for searching as it does a wonderful job of showing only the new results.

Another reason to use Trademe less. I would have thought they could ill afford to lose any more business to Marketplace

Hi Charles
Keeping only part of BidBud running would take a bunch of work too. It's likely to be all or nothing.
It's entirely up to Trade Me really.
