It appears a bidder has put the wrong bid on an item - reserve is $15 and he has placed a $51 bid. Numbers round the wrong way Im presuming. Im happy to accept this lol but presume the buyer, if successful, wont be happy paying but I will still be up for fees etc. He has no items of his own up and Ive posted a question on item explaining, but no contact as yet. I intend to remove his bid before it closes but have no prob with him bidding again or accepting an offer. Question is: once I have removed the bid, can he still make another correct bid or accept an offer?

Interestingly, since the ping thing was announced, there have been 24,842 new active members listed on the TM stats page (a total of 6,015,057 active members at 14 Nov.). I wonder how many of these are In Trade Sellers that have quit being in trade and have opened new casual accounts due to their dissatisfaction with this?

  • sledgenzr commented,

So in other words, PING is being mandated merely as a money grab by TM so they can click the ticket again. But WHY is it only being forced on In Trade Sellers? I believe it is due to ITS needing TM more than casual sellers and therefore the majority will roll over and acceptvthe extra fees. If it applied to casual sellers too, they would just move to sell on FB.

Totally agree with you henleyworks. Its a one sided agreement with absolutley no advantage to having an in trade account. In fact having an in trade acct is a complete disadvantage. I personally have decided to give up selling on TM, after 21 years, as I am retired any way and am only selling personal stuff thse days. Sad end to what was once a kiwi institution - although there is very little kiwi left in it.

I too have similar issues. Having been on TM for 21 years i find it hard to find any positives in being In Trade. I still use BB to do all my listings, although it is getting a bit clunky, and only use PTP for shipping as it is reasoably priced and simple to do. I will ONLY be offering cash payments and the buyer can choose to pay either in folding money or by requesting a bank account to pay into. Will just have to see how it goes. Im not really selling "in trade" any more however and am in the process of winding down. With this in mind i have been disposing of remaining items (collectab...

Sterotypes - Totaly agree with your sentiments. I will NOT be using ping or afterpay as I too will be unable to meet the restrictive conditions, thus giving buyers the only other choice - pay cash. This will severely limit my sales as the majority of present buyers use bank transfers and are not from my location. What TM are doing is restricting my business income by mandating a system that does not fit my business model. This can't be legal and is the reason I, among others, have complained to Comcom. My system has worked well for over 20 years and my 99.8 rating and thousands of positi...

Business Desk has an article on the matter and apparently there were around 27 complaints made to ComCom so I presume that means they will look into it?
