I was asked for more postage once item won
AnsweredWon an auction for a stamp album at 46c below what my max bid would have been. Paid winning bid and postage that night ($33.65 total). 2 days later am told item sent but cost more to send than advertised and would I mind paying an extra $9 to help out. This is from an In Trade seller. I waited till I recieved item and found that the bag used was about 1.5 times larger than the album and if the bag had been folded tight, to the smallest size to wrap the album, there would have been no need to pay extra NZ Post postage costs. I will not be helping out for what I consider lazyiness in packaging. Am I right or wrong in this? Cheers

Hi Tom. I would contact the seller and explain that to them, to see what they say about it.
Personally if I were the seller I would suck it up and learn from the mistake. However I guess it's up to you to decide if the value of the item, with the extra $9, was still a good deal. If so, you might consider paying the extra.

Hi Tom, if the postage amount was on the auction then no, you shouldnt be paying any extra. if not, then as Callum states but Id be learning towards a no also

As with others if shipping was on Auction, it woulds be no, You formed a contract to that stated shipping, if they are asking for more they are breaking the contract, and if it was more, buyer may have just moved on to someone else's auction,
As a Seller I just suck it up, my error etc. if I have wrong shipping on Auction, I would never go back and ask for more, It is my problem not theirs,
