How do I change my email address?

Hi Jo. I presume you are doing it at the change email address page here...
Basically, you put the new email address in the field and your existing password. A verification email goes to your NEW email address to confirm that you are the one that wants it changed. Follow the instructions there to confirm.
I just did it and got a verification email within minutes, clicked the link and can now login using new email address. Screenshot of email I received to NEW email address as below.
I also received email as below to my OLD email address.

I cannot change my email address. I can change everything else, but this will not allow me to open or change that field. Please help as my emails are getting bumped.

Hi Joanne. Sorry there is an issue there for you - it might be that the email address you want to use is already linked to a Trade Me account. Best thing to do will be to reach us on Live Chat so we can look into it for you.

Hi I can't change my email address as I don't have my current password either and it is not sending the information to change it to my email address

Hi William, if the password reset instructions aren't arriving in your email inbox, you'll need to reach out to our Customer Experience team for a hand getting logged back in and updating the email address

Hi Marcus, what were you trying to do when that error popped up? Was it changing your email address? If so, it might be that it's already in use on Trade Me. We will be able to check that out for you if you reach out on Live Chat. 🙂

What is Banana error 500 coz that's all I get when trying to change my email address and I have to change coz xtra is closing down

Where did you hear xtra is closing down? - Did you receive an email Or message/txt?
I would phone Spark to verify if the notification is legitimately from them. - We've not heard public news of this!
These Banana errors are not very helpful in directing one to the actual fault, - A few troubleshooting tips to try,
- Are you using the Desktop site or an App? - Have you tried through both?
- Are you on the latest up to date version of the Browser or App? - App updates are rolled out quite frequently so it pays to check.
- Try clearing your Cookies & Cache then reconnect to TM with a fresh start.
- Try going through a different Browser to your normal one.
- If you're using the App try uninstalling it then reinstalling it.
I am on a Laptop using the MS Edge Browser and have no problem getting through to change my email address - If you have no joy another Member may have valuable information for you Otherwise you can contact TradeMe staff in the morning using their "Live Chat" facility for assistance - Cheers.

Have received an email (in fact 2) concerning the Xtra email accounts saying that customers can pay for account, close account or move it to another account with them.
The price of Xtra Mail is changing
Xtra Mail has kept New Zealanders like you connected for almost 30 years. However, costs to run the service have increased significantly and it’s no longer sustainable to offer it for free.
So, from 16 May 2024, Xtra Mail will cost $5.95 a month for Spark broadband, pay monthly mobile and landline customers and $9.95 a month for everyone else. Just a heads up, we’ve already let your account holder know that the price they’re paying is changing.

It seems at some stage someone apart from me has used my email address to make account on Trademe. Now I have never had an email from trademe to that address so am unsure what the story is. I made a Gmail account just for trademe and it all works fine. New email registered fine. I found out about the other account by using the app for Trademe when I tried to change through app. At least that told me the reason I couldn't change email address so all good now. Maybe Trademe staff could do the same with the the desktop version instead of an ambiguous code that means nothing. Thanks.
