Kia Ora mog941,
Watchlist items of Casual Sellers that go unsold are added back to Members watchlists when the Seller relists the item. Professional Sellers items that are in new condition, a Buy Now only and the listing closed less than 14 days ago are added back to Members watchlists on a relist of the item, the occasional TradeMe shopper / browser may not be aware the item is added back to their watchlist as this can happen anytime within 45 days of the listing first closing therefore it's plausible some Buyers are unaware of items added back on their watchlist at any given time. The watcher has to login to their watchlist to see the item added back, if they're browsing and not adding anything new Buyers can miss this being added back on the relist multiple times. On the New Look Desktop site I am not receiving any emails letting me know of items I was watching being relisted. Watchers have to delete these items from their lost items to stop these relists being added back. The Help file has been updated to include this change made however not all Members use or browse the Help files or Community Posts to learn of this change.

Im not quite sure how this would work, how could they force this? Not everyone logs into their account regularly, so at what point do they need to respond and how long does the seller need to wait before they can then relist the item.

You should be able to see whom the FPO is being offered to at the very least. That at least helps to prevent you getting your time-wasted by the same member/members over and over again.

I offer many things every week, let's say i offer 50 things that go unsold - i am lucky if 1 of those people actually declines it! I only offer for one day now, as I never believe I'm going to get a response - unless they buy if they're really keen. Some people will watch things for ten years if you let them. They might need glasses.

Yes, definitely not worth offering out for any longer than 1 day, as they either want it or they don't!

As AJ said it would be impossible to make it "mandatory"
I have no idea who my offers are sent to, nor how many decline or ignore my offers. That doesn't worry me in the slightest.
I'm only interested in the sales (accept)
I'll have to admit I don't always bother declining offers either. When you have dozens of items on your watchlist it's pretty tedious and unnecessary in my opinion.....
