I bought a book
I bought a book for $21.98 early in June but it never arrived - they sent an excuse which went into my junk mail - then when I emailed them they said it would arrive in September but that was too late so I requested a refund which did not come so emailed them again - finally the refund arrived 24th August. I see that same book is now on TradeMe for $41 - but if they can't send me one previously why are they advertising it again - I just cant find where to complain - and also at the site where you can make comments after winning the article it does not appear at all - so how did that happen??

Hello wazza133.
Only the seller would be able to answer that. Perhaps they have sourced more stock of the book earlier than expected?
Still, if you would like to report it to Trade Me, you can Community Watch the auction from the auction page. There is a specific selection for "Item not in possession"
You probably can't leave feedback because you have left it too long. You can only place feedback upto 45 days after it has closed.

How can you change the comments page to longer than 45 days as this process of the book has taken longer than 45 days??

Hi wazza133. Yep 45 days is the limit. If you have problems with a trade don't bel led into waiting and waiting by any seller. You can lodge a dispute with trade me within 30 days of buying so you can avoid these problems.

Funny that the cut off point is 45 days to lodge a dispute yet TradeMe got in touch with me 3 months after an auction finished to say that a buyer of a dvd box set had issues with the set & want a refund. They only knew what the auction in question was as I had placed feedback on their profile.I asked TradeMe if I was still required to sort out a refund after all that time & at first said no it was optional. But the buyer kept putting pressure on them so in the end said I had to ring them to sort out a refund. So I rung them, they sent the dvds back which did turn out to have defects so I refunded them so fair enough. But my point is TradeMe can still pressure you to refund you way past 45 days !

Yup, if you are in-trade philkerri there is no limit really. For faulty goods Trade Me will still help buyers out in a deliberately open ended "reasonable timeframe." Buyers are also protected by the Consumer Guarantees Act. Depending on the item someone could potentially come back years down the track to make a claim under that.
This is especially true when they've got International Sellers and dropshippers in the mix. Sometimes those items haven't even arrived before the 30-45 day limit has gone.
