TM needs to fix its " confirmation code" issue, its unreliable, time wasting and frustrating

When you log in to TM, TM sends you a confirmation code to your email as part of the login process. There is a big problem with the speed these codes reach you. Sometimes it is nearly instant which is fine, other times it is 10 minutes or 30 minutes or it never arrives. Its totally frustrating wasting my time. I have to regularly switch between different business accounts and having to wait 30 minutes or long for the code to come through is rediculous and a waste of my business day. It seems the codes are instant in non busy times ( late at night or morning until about 9am), but busier times the supply of the code is vastly extended.
I use other websites that require confirmation codes, which get sent to my phone. They are instant every time ( so much so they arrive on my phone before I can even open my phone) and these sites are based overseas, not NZ.
TM needs to up their game and sort out this dogs dinner of verification code supply that they have at present

Callum Community SuperuserI haven't noticed that myself electricfencenz. It's always instant for me no matter what time it is. The trouble is with these type of issues it's hard to tell if it's something at Trade Me's end or something to do with your own email client, system or device itself.
Anyway, I certainly hope Trade Me doesn't implement a phone/text/app verification system. Personally there is nothing I loathe more than being at the computer and then having to go and find / get my phone to authenticate.

S Community SuperuserKia Ora electricfencenz,I don't have an issue with the confirmation code being emailed through either, sometimes I need to refresh my email client and it comes through for me - other times when I go to my email client it's already there - Anytime/hour day & night.1 -
AJ Community SuperuserI use an authenticator app which doesnt rely on any code being sent. Maybe try using this instead as your MFA

MFA is not necessary if one has logged in using correct email and passwords.
It's overdue Trade Me complied with Data Minimisation and ceased all the ridiculous MFA systems which is indeed increasing Risks to all as one has less control as to who these 3rd parties are collecting and sharing information with.
Oh for the Good ole days of local advertising and Garage Sales with Cash as legal tender and people completing trade simply

Howold - most of the scams on trademe where accounts have been hacked into, items listed and sold wouldve been completely avoided if people used MFA.
