Sellers that should be "In Trade"
I still see sellers in the Collectables area that are clearly "In Trade" but not yet listed as such !!
Where is the simple report form to advise Trade Me accordingly so they pay the charges as I do !!

Kia Ora retep2001,
If you go to the Community watch link at the very bottom of any listing the form you're after is the landing page - Cheers.

Here is a visual look at what your report should look like retep2001
Sometimes it's hard to remember which dropdown it is to get to what you want.
From my experience Trade Me sometimes don't act on these reports straight away. They send an email to the seller first and ask them to turn it on. So it might seem like nothing is happening at first. Give it a week to 10 days and if nothing has changed report the seller again. Trade Me can step in and force turn it on if it's an obvious case, and the seller hasn't responded. It also doesn't hurt to ask the seller themselves on their auctions if they are in-trade. Can be interesting sometimes seeing the answers ;)

I get emails suggesting I'm "in-trade" every few months even though I'm not "in-trade". The system will switch some traders over automatically. I've spoken to Trademe about it a few times and they switched my account back when it was automatically switched once.

Who is to decide if a person is "in trade" or not?
Do we know that person's personal circumstances?
Who are we all to judge without knowing the individuals situation, including if they may or may not be GST Registered?

I have just got up this morning and they have put me in trade. WTH I am not in trade. I have only sold 88 items and until recently when I started clearing out my storage unit, just list the same items pretty much week to week. I see way more people that should be in trade who have thousands of feedback and thousands of listings. How can they just make this decision without even asking. I have sent them a message but that could take days and in the meantime when if I sell something I am going to get stung with higher fees.

Oh and on top of that, it gives you somewhere in their email to go to if you feel this is wrong and contact us, but when you go there it is just info on being in trade and no where for you to contact them. Are they doing this to try and recoup fees or something?

I was told it was automated and just happens. 88 items seems weird though. I sell thousands so I understand why it would red flag me. When I did contact them they were really helpful and a real person assessed my account and talked to me about it. They did say it may not stop it from happening again though.
