Showing 0 views in one place and 11 in another
Hi
My summary/front page of my 8 listings shows 0 views and 0 watchers, yet when I went in to edit the listings all of them had views and several had watchers. Why are these no longer shown at a glance on the summary/front page? Thanks

Kia Ora Alison,
This has been discussed at length in the Community forum since the change to the New Look site commenced, which you can run a search through the help bar at the Top of Community pages for existing Posts. - We have been requested to file our reports through the "Tell us what you think" link on the page you are on at the time you're viewing the change on the New Look site as these reports go direct to the correct Team who look into that particular issue and enhancements on the site. - Cheers.

the good news is you are not alone with these problems..
the really bad news is that the trademe system is getting worse by the day.
i too have experienced these latest problems in recent weeks (never before in over ten years)
and to make it worse even when one part of the system tells you that there are watchers
when the listing comes to a close all these disappear..
so no chance to make an offer ..
most disappointing indeed..
and various notes to the trademe system have not resulted in any improvements
i also sent screen shots several times
but sadly these always result in some rather strange auto responses. .
no offer of direct help, no improvement, no solution.
it wasnt like this when trademe was a new zealand owned company..
those were the days
everything worked.. hard to believe now.

I too have had these problems over past weeks and the multiple responses from Trade Me are lame (see below in bold).
I can't offer fixed prices to watchers at the end of auctions and I can't list "similar items".
Under the CGA, services supposedly offered by Trade Me are misleading
Kia ora,
Sorry for the trouble – we’re upgrading some background systems that power Trade Me. While we do this, some features won't be available on certain listings.
I'm afraid we can't offer more information than what we've provided already. Since the upgrades are being implemented gradually some features aren't available at the moment and we can't provide a timeline for when they will be available.
For the listings that you can't send out a fixed price offer for you'll just need to relist them until this feature is re-implemented. Watchers will be notified it’s back up for grabs provided they’re opted in for these emails in their preferences.5 -

Kia ora Liz, through these gradual changes we'll continue to roll out features and bug fixes. I'll comment on relevant posts and update statuses when those happen. Sorry we don't have more information than what we've already provided, the team are working super hard on this.

This has been happening for weeks. And the same "excuse" is given by Trade Me each time.
New features do not excuse "bugs" that remove previous viable and usable options.
Not good enough Trade Me

I agree with Liz. I have been using Trade Me since its inception and while there were occasional ooops moments (which were sorted out quickly and with the minimum of inconvenience) - it was nothing like we're seeing at the moment. There's more bugs in Trade Me at the minute than you would find in an infectious diseases lab! And the vaccine is nowhere in sight.

I'm in the same boat, can't see watchers and unable to make an offer when auction closes. Been using Trademe for many years and never experienced bugs like this.
It is interesting though because it doesn't affect all categories. If I start an auction for a standard household lamp under 'Home and Living', everything works fine. But if I start one for an 'antique' lamp under 'Antiques and Collectibles', the auction is super broken and nothing works.
What gives Trademe?

Kia ora Matt, that's correct, not all listings or categories are affected. The team are working really hard on this, while we are rolling out the changes some features are unavailable for some listings.

and when do you stop rolling out problems ???
pls go back to basics.. that worked for all.

Kia ora Pamela, we're gradually rolling out these upgrades to the site, things aren't exactly broken but were getting a bit clunky! We're always going to be adjusting and improving, some functionality may be unavailable but we'll get there. You can read more about it here.

Why do relists show exactly the same number of watchers and same number of views that were evident at the close of an auction as soon as the item is relisted?????

Liz you might be surprised to know this is actually a new feature Trade Me introduced around August where they now automatically add watchers from your closed listings to your new listings when you re-list them. Trade Me have updated their help page about watchlists to indicate this is what now happens.
To me it is not a helpful feature and I don’t like it so I now duplicate any of my listings that have closed with watchers creating a new listing where any watchers shown are current and not carried over from the previous listings.

Thank you.
No, I didn't know of that change by Trade Me in August - nor am I aware of any notification by Trade Me - in fact, I have queried this "problem" with Trade Me and they have never mentioned the change.
Regarding your strategy - do you have 2 listings of each item or do you make 1 new listing?
Does this negate previous watchers knowing that the unsold item has been relisted?

Liz I use My Products to manage my listings so duplicating the listing is very quick and easy it does mean that previous watchers are not informed of the new listing and will have to search for it again which I am ok with I don’t re-list the closed listing that has watchers as doing that would carry the watchers over to that re-listed listing which is what I want to avoid.
Some members have said they like the new feature but for me it is giving false views and watchers so I prefer to start fresh with a new listing.
There have been a few posts about this new feature but they seem to get removed for some reason. I asked Trade Me about this issue when I first noticed it happening as I thought it was a bug but was informed it was a new feature they had introduced after a survey they did. Below is the reply I got from them.
“ I've checked in with the tech team, and we've rolled out a new feature where items you've watched will automatically appear back in your Watchlist if the seller relists. If you're no longer interested in the item, you can remove it from your Watchlist.”

Where in the Editing part do we find that there are people who have viewed our Listings and how can we find who the Watchlisters are so we can complete Trade or at least do Fixed Price Offers?
These Options have always been a part of the Terms and Conditions of Trade Me and providing a reputable service and have not been able to be accessed for far too long for us Casual Sellers
