I think that has happened since Ping and cash has been the only Trade Me options available to in-trade traders. It seems that automatically send Payment Instructions are no longer deemed necessary in view of the changes. :/

  • shortsbandy commented,

    Mine for a start.

  • shortsbandy commented,

Hi, I've noticed that with heaps of in-trade sellers too - hardly a level playing field!

  • shortsbandy commented,

I would have thought that they could have found a better time to do the changes.

  • shortsbandy commented,

Sounds like the Commerce Commission have been receiving lots of mail.

  • shortsbandy commented,

Just get in contact with Trade Me and explain what has happened - they will refund for the postage. Then ring the courier and cancel the pick up.

  • shortsbandy commented,

You know Callum, that's exactly what Trade Me are doing. Taking the right away from the small/sole trader to earn an honest living - with all the fees that they have initiated, especially the success on postage - which only served to make 'in trade' sellers increase their prices, and now forcing Ping on in-trade sellers only. As well as a two-tier success fee structure. If payment is made using Ping there is no problem - when you refund the corresponding portion of the success fee is credited to your account. If payment is made using bank deposit - [which soon will no longer be available to in-trade sellers] - you will have to contact Trade Me and ask for a manual refund.

I think that Sharon is 100% correct in that Trade Me want to get rid of 'in-trade' sellers. I also think that it leaves is a great opening for an auction site for small or sole-traders?

  • shortsbandy commented,

Robert, it sure isn't as cost-effective as it once was! Buyers are not finding the site as easy to navigate as it was before the so-called improvements. There are a number of bugs - including bidders being unable to bid (that's diabolical for an auction site!). The speed at which these problems are being solved is appallingly slow. And there still isn't a decent search engine.  In-trade sellers are treated like the proverbial. Overseas sellers flood the site and are not subject to the same terms and conditions as we are. It's simply not a level playing field. This latest move by Trade Me ad...
