Restricted Account

Kia Ora TD,
Sounds like you have breached correct Membership sign up to TradeMe - The Rules clearly state as follows:
When you register, your personal details need to be accurate – this is how we verify your identity if you need to contact us.
Only your first name and username are displayed on-site, and your email address is shared with members you trade with. Everything else is private.
TradeMe will advise your Next steps - Cheers.0 -
Thank you. I updated my name, but should I put my full address in the account? I just put down Wellington City, no street name or number. I think this is possibly why they have restricted it. I’ll do this and hopefully they will send an email so I can verify the account. I think this is where the problem is. Cheers

I think it is because your account balance is only $1, that is not enough to cover your success fees if sold,
You need to top up your account to cover success fees for your sold items,
no money in your account you cannot sell,

I assumed they take the success fee out when the item sold. I think you might be right. I will top up my account and try listing again. Thanks for this suggestion. Cheers :)

Hi
I’m having a same issue. I have topped up my account but still having restrictions issue for selling vehicles1 -
Hi Leila, you need to go onto the LiveChat and ask them to look at your account. For me they have asked me to provide photo id and utility bill to prove my identity, which I’m in the process of doing. I emailed with Zavia and asked if she will help you also. ( yes I topped up to $10 and tried to list, but still restricted! ). Hopefully when you go onto the chat you will get it sorted. 8am-6.30pm mon to fri and 8.30am to 4pm on weekends. Comment again if you need more help.

Kia Ora S,
After I thanked you initially I got an email from Trademe telling me my issue had been resolved and it wasn’t. The account was still restricted and I still needed help. 2 people downvoted your comments because they disagreed with what you were saying. My understanding is that this is a community forum where members help each other and share information. It is great that TradeMe has paid moderators like yourself helping the community forum, but you should not interfere in the spirit of members helping one another and sharing their own experiences, otherwise what’s the point in having something labeled as a “community forum”. I’m sure Leila and anybody who posts in this forum can figure out the steps they need to take to get their account sorted out. Please don’t comment on this post again. The advice you are giving is not kosher.

Kia ora TM, we have no paid member moderators. We're all lucky to have Trade Me users including S who are generous enough to share their knowledge and experience with others simply to help make life easier. Perhaps the quality of her advice is why you think she's paid by us, but she isn't.

Hi Lucy,
As soon as I responded to S’s comment, I got this email from Trademe:
Hi TD,
Thanks for letting us know you found an answer in our Help Centre. We've now closed your request.
If this was a mistake, reply to this email to re-open your request.
Please stop responding to this thread. Everytime you do this I get a spam email that is not helping with my account.
It’s inappropriate and unprofessional.
If you don’t like my feedback here on the community forum, then just delete the thread? This is the appropriate thing for Trademe to do.
Have a wonderful day

S Community SuperuserKia Ora Leila,Restricted accounts can be for many different reasons including the potential of securing the Members account from harm.I've picked up on your wording of Cars - With Car Listings a Casual Seller may List one to nine within the same 12 months - Any amount over this nine becomes a Trader, This plan has different listing options, fees and benefits. Members who qualify as a Registered Motor Vehicle Trader qualify for this Trader plan. - Members who don't qualify cannot List more than 9 cars within the same 12 months.Has TradeMe contacted you for information Or have you encountered this on attempting to List? - If TM has contacted you supply the information requested asap for resolution. - If you encountered this yourself, as I have, Ensure your Membership details are complete, your account is not in Debt and you have the Funds in your account to cover the Listing Fee(s).If this all checks out you will need to contact TradeMe staff, as I did, to enquire. The "Live Chat" hours weekdays are 9:30:am - 5:00pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pm- All the Best - Cheers.0

Hi, where does it say that I can't add a picture from a link to the questions? I want to send this to the seller to make sure that this part is right for me. I tried to link it and something popped up for 2 seconds, without me getting a chance to read it. I had to take a screenshot to catch what it was saying.
To prevent your personal details being misused please do not put emails or phone numbers in questions. Failure to comply may result in the suspension of your account. The seller cannot add a Buy Now price once bidding has started.

It doesn't say anywhere that you can't add a picture from a link to the questions anywhere Andras. The ai bot will be picking up some chars or a url in what you posted and thinking you are using that to give contact details. You would need to work around not being able to write in a full url, by adding a few spaces or something.
