Safety Issue with new product.
AnsweredI recently purchased a handheld router from a business and the first time i used it i got an electrical shock.
Have tried to contact them but they won't reply, this is a serious concern.
Why is there no way to contact trademe direct.

Hi there. That sounds dangerous. I would open a dispute. Go to your items I won and hit the dispute button on the right hand side. If the time limit has passed you will have to contact Trade Me using Live Chat.
If the seller still has those listings for sale Community Watch them, and explain what happened. You could also try asking them via Q&A if they are unresponsive to emails.
You can of course leave feedback as well if the seller is unresponsive and ask them to read and reply to your email(s)
Finally if this seller is "in-trade" they should be able to provide an SDOC (Supplier Declaration of Conformity) for mains powered electrical equipment. If you don't get any joy from Trade Me try a complaint direct to MBIE or worksafe instead. They will take this type of thing very seriously. Worksafe has a reporting page for non-workplace electrical shocks that you could complete

Kia Ora Graham&Kelly,
Sorry to read your experience here! - Great info' and advice from Callum,
Listings remain in your Won items for 45 days - beyond the 45 days for Faulty Goods you can report this Seller to TM as well as request assistance via their "Live Chat" facility. - Once you've selected the Contact us Chat Tab you need to give the landing page a count of 15+ seconds for the Chat Tab to Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your screen, there is a slight delay in this appearing.
The 'Live Chat' manned hrs Monday - Friday are 8:am - 6:30pm & Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4:pm.
All the Best - Cheers.

Kia ora, thanks so much for posting. It's great that you've reached out about this, and thanks also to Callum and S for jumping in with advice.
We're looking into this for you Graham&Kelly. In the meantime, go ahead and file a dispute report as Callum suggested. You can also reach out on Chat like S has said if you'd like to speak to someone right away.1 -
To be honest the policing of Electrical complacence on this site has gone backwards a lot over the past year or 2, you don't have to look very hard to find something non compliant, I did a CW just now on an item, listed by an In Trade Seller, with no electrical safety certificate, no insulation on the pins, there is even corrosion on the pins! I have CW this seller in the past, and their stuff never gets taken down.
