Kia ora doc311, can you give us a bit more information? Also you can give your feedback directly to the team via "Tell us what you think" towards the bottom of Trade Me pages.

Kia Ora doc311,
What do you mean by a few to view? - If you mean only a few Sellers or Searches take a look in your saved Favourites to ensure they're all still actively set to email you - these were recently migrated over to the New system and you may need to turn some back on to receive active emails - you can read further through the Post from TradeMe staff regarding the change made below...

I noticed today (and maybe yesterday) that some of my favourite searches coming through on email had a different format.
I use gmail. Previously you would get upto 30 items before gmail truncated the email and you have to click a link to open the full email.
Today there is as little as 9 items before it is truncated
This is probably due to the larger format of the email and or pictures coming through in the new format.
Perhaps that is what you mean doc311?

Kia Ora All,
Just this morning I have a few emails come through which show some Listings from My Favourites search categories, at the bottom of the few Listing items shown I have a Tab which goes directly through to My Favourites though not to the search I've saved and are reading the email listed items from - it goes directly to all My Favourites as if I've just opened My Favourites from within the site and then have to find the search to continue viewing further items within.

Yes, same here Callum. This morning I received a new format email from a new TM email sending address for one of my searches, with only 10 items on it, then an hour later received an old format email for the same saved search with 49 items on it, which is more usual. The items on each email are unique to that email and don't appear on the other email.
The new format email is a mess. Larger format, heaps of wasted white space, no generated at time showing so is impossible to know when the search was done. One thing that is better in the new email is that the full search line is shown, where in the old emails it was truncated after a few operands. The only problem is, my search term line is quite long, so I have to scroll 3 times in the new email before I can see any items, as the search term text is such a large font size.

Yup I'm finding I'm getting x2 emails for some of my saved searches. Maybe 1 is for items created in new look, 1 for items created the old way. Or it could be just that they were generated at different times. Photos on the new ones can be a hit and miss as well, with the sides chopped off, which misses some important details on the photos. See example below
Hopefully with time it will settle down. See tomorrow I guess.

Hopefully this new email format can be fixed, its a mess.

The new email is absolutely hopeless.
No-one will bother to search for the search term in favourites to see more items. Totally clumsy.
So in future there will be even less sales, and the site will be even less user friendly than it is now.4 -
Dear Trade Me, please revert back to your old favourite/new listings emails which worked well and enabled us to quickly scan through and find new auctions to bid on. The new favourite/new listings emails only list a few auctions now, meaning we have to click the link at the bottom of the page, which then takes us onto the Trade Me favourites site, which then means we have to scan through and find the particular favourites category, open it to find in many cases 100's of listings we now have to sift through. Most of us simply do not have the time to do this, as a result we will certainly stop looking and remove our favourite searches. This will have a significant effect on both Seller and Trade Me turnover. Thank you

tlzee are you only getting the new format emails? I'm still getting both. Old and new. For the same search. But yes, it's all a bit of a mess at the moment.
I suspect it could be that items created in the new format are coming through on the new email. The old format email has both.

Hi, I am getting both new and old emails for some of my favourite searches, but the majority of my searches are getting only new emails now. I wonder if TM are trying to force potential buyers to look though all of the listings in any given category, but this is way too time consuming, and it will allmost certainly cause a backlash with people giving up on their favourite searches. I personally have already deleted a number of mine and I haven't had the time to even look through others, this is the first time in years I have not checked my daily favourite searches, so already sellers will be feeling the pinch.

Also Michelle,
(A) Favorite search emails. The previous emails had a "subject line" that made sense, and was easily recognised.Search emails said,New "thermal ribbon" listings matching your saved searchThe new ones say,Latest marketplace listings in "thermal ribbon"It does not make sense grammatically, as "thermal ribbon" is a search term I used, not a category to be "in" as such. Also, you often have many of these arrive at once, and with the actual search term way over to the right, rather than starting just after New, it's not always immediately visible, depending on how you have your email client column widths set and/or how notification width windows are set.(B) Saved seller emails.Saved sellers email has subject line, Latest listings in (membername).Inside email, first line is Today’s listings matching your saved search for (membername). Both subject line and first line in email make no sense, as this was for a saved seller, not a search. Also, there is no clickable link at the top to all the sellers listings.Old ones said New listings from (membername), which is as it should be.First line, New listings from (membername), with a clickable link to all of that members listings.(C) Saved category emails.Subject, Latest marketplace listings in (categoryname).First line in email, Today’s listings matching your saved search for (categoryname). Incorrect, as was not a search, it is a saved category.1 -

Kia Ora Michelle,
As of this morning 2 September 2026 I have Favourite saved seller emails appear as "Latest listings in Seller" - this doesn't give me the Seller's name - when I open the email to see who the seller is I'm given "Today's listings matching your saved search for Your saved search" - No where is the saved seller's name mentioned anywhere - I have to enter a listing just to see who the seller I've saved is!
This doesn't happen to all saved sellers as yet though it should not be happening to any. - I've stopped the bulk of my favourites emails as I don't get a full list of their daily listings, as I only have a minority of favourite emails actively coming through this is a huge concern I should happen to get one which doesn't provide who the seller is in the email subject or body. - If AI is being used this requires a human eye across it.
EDIT: to confirm this is a saved seller Not a saved search.
Please send me an email I can respond to with the seller's specific details - Thanks.
Example: Email subject

Email body

I got some favourite seller emails through today as well in the new format.
While I didn't get your specific issue yet, the grammatical nonsense of the title of the email was enough to get me cringing.
I get how some minor errors can creep in for specific curly instances when there is a new release. But honestly how the heck are these things released with obvious wholesale problems seemingly without even the most basic of testing? Or maybe we are the Guinea Pigs. Just throw it out and see what happens.
I wouldn't blame poor old AI. That would have the intelligence to know that "Latest Listings in <insert sellers name>" is not a grammatically correct sentence.
