Now that Trade me have changed their favourite searches emails and applied the 14 days drop off from buyers' watchlists, I personally no longer bother searching to buy new items on Trade Me, I cannot afford to do so, as these brutal changes by Trade Me have all but destroyed my sales on the site, and yet Trade Me continues to show no interest in helping their sellers in this matter. Thank you Michelle, but the comments in this thread clearly point to Trade Me members telling you that they are no longer bothering to look at their favorite searches emails as they have become too cumbersome to navigate. Also, I have over 3500 items that I would need to individually go through and alter with your seller Q&A comment above. Surely, it would be so much easier to just drop your 14-day listing rule and let us all get make to buying and selling again. Can Trade Me not see how these recent changes have impacted on your sales?
I now have clear evidence of a massive drop in sales due to Trade Me removing items from potential buyer watchlists if the seller doesn't relist them within 14 days, they dont go back onto the watchlist of buyers that were watching the items. Hi Michelle, yes Trade Me now has a new rule regarding professional seller listings and watchlists. A watch listed item will only roll over and get added back to your watchlist if the relisted item is in New Condition, is Buy Now only, and closed less than 14 days ago. If you trade in used items and rotate your items, as many of us do, then the connection to previous watchers is dropped after 14 days, and it won't pop back onto your watchlist automatically. Obviously, this means we will buy and sell less.
Sadly after many years of buying items on TM I no longer look at my favourites anymore, its just too cumbersome and time consuming, I see also TM have wiped out my watch listed items after 14 days. I can tell other TM members are giving up as well and this will be reflected in a significant drop in sales across the TM network. These changes have literally killed the the site for many of us, and to date TM have given no indication that they intend to fix the problem.
Hi, I am getting both new and old emails for some of my favourite searches, but the majority of my searches are getting only new emails now. I wonder if TM are trying to force potential buyers to look though all of the listings in any given category, but this is way too time consuming, and it will allmost certainly cause a backlash with people giving up on their favourite searches. Dear Trade Me, please revert back to your old favourite/new listings emails which worked well and enabled us to quickly scan through and find new auctions to bid on. The new favourite/new listings emails only list a few auctions now, meaning we have to click the link at the bottom of the page, which then takes us onto the Trade Me favourites site, which then means we have to scan through and find the particular favourites category, open it to find in many cases 100's of listings we now have to sift through.
