Hello chris012.
Have you requested it to be transferred to your bank account?
PS I hope you have sent the item, you need to do this within 2 days of receiving the Ping notification.
Personally I like to tick the automatic transfer box. This will give you a daily transfer, if funds are in your Ping account.

Kia Ora chris012,
Have you checked your Ping account for the payment as opposed to your TradeMe account?

Hi chris012. Have you logged in and checked directly on your sold item that it has been paid by ping. Or have you relied on an email only. If it is an email only it may not be legit and you may need to contact trade me.

Thanks chris012,
This usually indicates the Buyer hasn't paid yet if there's nothing showing in your Ping transactions ledger. Have you been in contact with your Buyer?

Yes, this seems curious. You said the Ping payment was confirmed. How did you get this confirmation? Was it from Trade Me, or are you just relying on what the buyer told you?
If a buyer has paid with Ping, then apart from the confirmation email from Trade Me, and it showing in your Ping account, it will also show as paid on your "sold" listings page.

Very strange, Got conformation from trademe including a congratulations for my first ping sale, stating it would now be in my ping acc, but nothing anywhere in any acc.

Thanks chris012,
Follow up payment status with your Buyer.

So you are saying trademe send out conformation emails to sellers even though they dont know if they have really been payed, thats really dodgy.

"PS I hope you have sent the item, you need to do this within 2 days of receiving the Ping notification. "
This raises an interesting situation for us rural traders, that may only get to town once a week to the post shop.

you need to do this within 2 days of receiving the Ping notification, is not correct, it use to be 3 days but it seems to be 7 days now?,
As using ping does not make items to get sent out any quicker at all, In fact bank deposits can be quicker, one reason I never used it, I do not courier every day, I do not courier on days I know I will not be home, my main courier only picks up once a day, If I sell some thing after 9am, well that day is out for pick up, as missed the booking cut off, so courier will not get notification for pick that day, If I know I will not be couriering next day, it will be sent following day on day 3, Then there are times I only have one very small parcel so will hold it off until following day when I have more, as yes it can waste a couriers time coming up to my location for a tiny package if I know I will have more following day, This is why I generally do my bookings in evening, so I know what my plans are for next day, going to be home or do I have to go out?, Once again, you have blinkers on do not see the bigger picture out there, we are not all big businesses like you, we are all different live different lives, people work different hours etc., we are little stay at home sellers, not employees, not a business as such, so if we want a day off here and there we just take a day out, and no do not have to courier on those days, I do not leave my parcels out unattended, even though it is pretty safe to do so, as long as we send within a week, we are o.k, the 3 day rule appears be be gone now, as casual sellers never adhered to it anyway, you could wait a week just to get shipping cost if it was not on auction, or a box so they could pack it,
Some people only go to post shop once a week not daily or have their set days they go into town/shopping day, not everyone uses the book a courier, some sellers it is unsafe to leave parcels out for courier to pick up as no safe place to leave them, and now people will no be making unnecessary trips to post shops, due to fuel cost, back before Book a courier I could only ever post on Saturday mornings when I could get to post shop, and there are sellers out there that this still applies to them now,
The general consensus now, it must be sent within 7 days,

50bmg I got it a bit wrong. It's 3 working days. But anyway if you are Rural Delivery wouldn't you be getting a collection from your letterbox daily with the flag up if required? I thought that's the whole point of those flags? Why would you need to go to the Post Office? Those days of queuing up with parcels are long gone.
Otherwise if you can't comply with the Ping T&Cs you technically shouldn't be selling at all. I guess it would be upto someone to complain though. I'm sure buyers would be reasonable if you had it clearly stated that you only send once per week or whatever.
10. Sellers' obligations
10.1. A seller using Ping must ship items as quickly as reasonably possible (and in any case no later than within three working days of notification of payment).

You need to establish if the Buyer has actually paid for the item, the fact there is nothing in your Ping Ledger, Sold items etc. usually means the Buyer hasn't paid as yet, if they have paid they can show you receipt of payment.
Items don't get sent until payment has been made. - As this was sold on 9 March 2026 if you've sent the item already without payment you need to follow this up. If you have been paid but haven't sent the item(s) the Buyer would be filing a dispute of non-receipt by now. The Seller has 2 days to make contact and 1 week within which to send the goods.

flossy63 Community SuperuserPlease take you blinkers off, you do not seem to be living in the same big wide world as the rest off us,We are all different, for variable reasons, some still need to use the post shop, even I do when using the old red bags? old orange Labels as I use Standard post for PO Boxes, and without tracking added you cannot get them picked up from your door,, I have to take them into a physical post shop to get tracking added,as we can no longer get the black tracking Tickets, someone said you could buy just a tracking label on line, but have yet to find out how?,And with a population of millions, yes a lot will still be using a post shop as it is there best safest option, like those living in multi apartment complexes etc. like me still have the older untracked bags, and people using post shop tracked bags, still like to take them into post shop to send, some do not know you can book online to get picked up from your door?,Some like dealing with real people, just like supermarkets will not use the self checkouts, they what real human interaction, and as for this it comes across a bit rude Otherwise if you can't comply with the Ping T&Cs you technically shouldn't be selling at all. This is one of the reasons I never used or wanted to use Ping, because could not always send asap, but now changed to 7 days, So life goes on as per normal & I am not chained to house arrest or to the computer, work when I feel like it, as I have a life outside Trade Me other commitments sometimes those commitments can get in the way, so April/May I will not be doing a lot of selling, as I am Intrade, but sell on casual basis only a few weeks here and there with a few weeks break, yes we do not fit in the same box, We are all different,Thank your for clarification, as yes some areas still need updating, as differs to where you search and look, but more often than no nowt, you see the 7 days,2

Why would you need to go to the Post Office? To try and support the people and businesses that live and work in the community. Getting harder to do these days, but when they're gone, they're gone...

I live rurally and tried getting nz post to pick up. They didn't get picked up for nearly a week. And that was after me contacting them a few times. And i have a great postie. I cant fit big items in the letter box and i wouldn't want to anyway as its not visible from my house and we have had mailbox thefts.

flossy63 Can you show me where it says that says Ping items must be sent within 7 days?
Are you getting confused with the statement on the Purchase Complete email that says items must be DELIVERED within 7 days maybe?
0 -
flossy63 Community SuperuserSorry absolutely no confusion when it comes from the horses mouth so to speak and in E-Mails from staff, even though I have paid via ping the seller has 7 days to send,as I raised it last year when it was enforced on us, as cannot always adhere to the Ping conditions of sending within 3 days, and got told no you have 7 days to send,On your sold E-mails where it has been paid with ping, Sent/Delivered within seven days, same as now cash on auctions also means Bank deposit (Cash/Bank deposit) as we know it Lol!, wording does not change the fact, as a staffer has also said can offer cash so payment can be made by bank deposit,As yes I did raise a lot of valid points last year when Ping was enforced,So the general consensus is must be sent within 7 days now not 3 days, there is no guarantee when a parcel will be even be delivered in 7 days it is out of our hands, but we can guarantee we can send it in 7 days, but trades must be completed within a week which includes sending within a week, and their is no stipulation on sold E-mails you must ship in 3 days?, as it would clearly state it on E-Mail if it was the case, must be sent in 3 days, but it does not, so read into it delivered/sent!, yes some places the wording can be better, and Terms and Conditions need updating, as not in Sync across the site,It does not state it must be sent in 3 days, so therefore can sent on day 6 will be delivered on day 7 in a lot of cases,

as I did raise this and got told no they have 7 days now to send? unless it was just another staffer that does not know the rules?, as some not so knowledgeable at all,
and you will find a good majority of sellers using ping have no idea of the old 3 day rule as they do not read the Terms and conditions when they join, the just tick boxes to accept,
