Ping not all it is made out to be!
In twenty years trading through Trade Me, I have had only one problem with a bank transfer and that was where the lady muddled the numbers. With Ping our account with Trade Me was hacked repeatedly and over $1000 was stolen from our Visa account but nothing showed up on my Trade Me account, we only discovered this when we were checking the Visa statement. Yes Trade Me refunded the money but we had to go through hoops to get it. I consider Ping to be flawed and I shall stop selling on Trade Me after the 15th of March when Trade Me forces us to use Ping. I think Ping is just another money making ploy by Trade Me.

What answers "we all receive" simon277 as it impacts on all New Zealand users and those also overseas.
Have a read of the PING AN payments case from around 10 years ago as that's got useful information how Digital online open Payments are required to comply with Rule of Law

Ping is apparently all in house, if these changes come from Apax Partners (UK) who now own Trade Me, is an interesting question waiting to be answered.

No AJ we are not reading too much into this.
We are aware of how systems are operated internationally.
It's just the way it is.
By chance did you do Economic Studies at school?
It was one of our favorite subjects.
Fabulous teachers to who taught us with worldly knowledge.
Add to the mix, we were raised with an awareness of international economic systems and UN, hence our contributions.
As far as Rule of Law goes, read up on wider Legislation, there's book shelves full of it for us all to learn from in an evolving world.
Some words may change but the main body remains the same, kindness and humanities.

Yes economics and accounting, plus Ive dealt with law including internation law in previous jobs. I do think you are overthinking it. Trademe simply sees it as a money maker, no other "international" reason. Its a company that wants (needs) to make money for its shareholders like any other company does. Nothing sinister.
I dont want to read any books, i thought you were saying there was some specific rule of law thats being broken here. Im happy to read that. I dont have the time or care to go on some "fact busting" exercise.

AJ, we tend to think of Trade Me as ours but let us remember it is privately owned by a UK company.

We could of course all write directly to APAX and tell them directly how we feel and include a copy of the information in here and on other NZ social media discussions groups.
Perhaps that's a more effective way to address these issues.
Let us know how you get on should one write directly to them.

A few people wrote to the directors when the new look was initially implemented.
Howold, when you write directly to the company it would be great if you let us know what kind of response you receive.

Hi Howold. It was all on this community page in various threads quite some time ago when the new look started to come in. Whether or not they are still there I don't know. The message board gets tidied up by trade me over time to remove duplicate or outdated posts.
