Surcharge of the Ping still affective after 11th. March,
As we all aware, Trademe is cancelling success fee and bank transfer by introducing the service fee.
Which means, Ping and Afterpay are the only options if you want to buy something that's not physically reachable. However, in the current mode, we'll be charged a few percent of amount sold of an item if it's been paid via Ping or Afterpay.
Will this surcharge be waved in the new change? If not, we will be forced to pay "success fee" plus the service fee.

Hello nolador. I don't understand what you mean. What surcharge?
If you are a seller you pay the Ping fee.
If you are a buyer you pay the service fee.

Hi Callum,
As a seller, Ping will become a mandatory payment option. And the seller needs to pay a fee of 2.19% of the total payment amount via this method.
And buyers will also be charged a service fee for each purchase.
So, that means both buyers and sellers will be charged for each trade, doesn't it?

Correct naolador. For purchases over $20 the buyer will pay a service fee and the seller will no longer pay success fees. Only the 2.19% Ping fee.

Okay, so this becomes a change for both parties rather than being charged to the seller only.

Kia Ora naolador,
Yes! it is a change for both the Casual Seller & the Buyer, the buyer on purchases over $20. though only if Ping is selected as the payment method.

There are also exclusions to the Service fee...

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

So it says with Ping that the payment will show immediately but it can take 1 to 2 days to have it transferred to your NZ Bank account. Is there a fee for them to do this transfer??

Kia Ora hoboko02,
No there is no charge from either TradeMe or your Bank to make this transfer unless you are transferring into a Bank account which charges you for deposits made. - Cheers.

Kia ora hoboko02, Our 2.19% Ping fee is a competitive transaction fee that covers the cost of processing payments. This ensures your money shows up immediately and that the trade is fully backed by our protection policies. Buyers prefer Ping too, because if a trade goes wrong, they’re covered up to $5,000.
As a seller you can send the goods as soon as the payment shows in your Ping account. To make it easy you can set your Ping account to transfer the balance automatically to your bank account so you don't have to log in to arrange for withdrawals, you can use your Ping balance to buy things on the site too.

Would you please provide us with a copy of the details of the Trade Me Consumers / Customers survey where it states "Buyers prefer Ping"?
Which demographics are included in this survey and where can we all see this information?
There's a thing called Spin but there's also the need to see acting with Transparency and Integrity.
Perhaps also look up the history of the likes of Coinbase and Bitcoin as forms of Cryptocurrency, which is effectively what Ping is, isn't it?
Both get a mention in Epstein files in regards to financial services, and those linked to them have been in breach of various aspects of Rule of Law...
Is Ping really any different?
Do they have bricks and mortar offices around the regions of New Zealand?

Kia ora Howold, Ping is our built-in card payment system for handling electronic transactions. It's not crypto, it's like an electronic wallet you can use to be paid for, and purchase things on Trade Me.

However PING still requires sensitive Personal Banking Debit or Credit Card details, is this correct?
Who exactly is PING and where are there New Zealand offices, including Customer Services offices?
Do they have a New Zealand Business licence number as we can't seem to locate any of this information.
Just wondering if this is perhaps a not so smart move on APAX as operators of Trade Me as we are in New Zealand with a much smaller population than say that more heavily populated countries of UK or USA or we understand pockets of South America where APAX also have offices?
Note that to operate as a Business Process Outsourced Customer Services support person there's regulation surrounding Work Permits etc if operating from another country which complicates matters.

Howold. Ping is wholly owned and operated by Trade Me. The Trade Me offices are in Wellington.
There isn't a separate Business number for Ping, because it is not a separate business.

TradeMe uses "Ping identity NZ Ltd" systems for it's built-in card payment system.
