Seller doesn't deliver goods and leave retaliatory feedbacks
So, I wanted to treat myself and bought *SALE* Antipodes AVOCADO PEAR NOURISHING NIGHT CREAM. Paid by PING and never heard back from the seller. Left a reddie. Looked at their profile-this is a common story with them and they leave retaliatory feedback.
TM removed "retaliatory" from "reasons to remove the feedback" for some reason. I did apply for it to be removed, but I wonder how long will it take TM to ban them altogether(if at all) for doing this to other people? Anyone every heard of this happening?

Generally Trade Me like to see at least 95% feedback, so your seller could be "on the radar" if someone has already pointed them out.
While the retaliatory reason has gone from the official list, I think they do still take a look. Your claim probably gets more clout if you had to open a Dispute for the item, so there is a trail to show the seller wasn't complying with their seller responsibilities.
It's a bit silly of them to continue selling that product, as they currently are, if they are out of stock of it!

I did the claim to get my PING money back, as they never got in contact. They got quite a few feedbacks like mine for different products. I don't see how this is a good business model

Kia Ora TM user,
Sorry this happened to you,
No! it's not a good business model at all, I agree - TM tend to guide Sellers who fall below the 95% positive feedback criteria in how to recover their status rather than close their accounts and risk the potential of having them open new / multiple accounts. At least, reading feedback first is a warning for Buyers. - If they are still selling the same product which is out of stock community watch is the way to go. Reporting these Sellers as you have keeps TM eyes monitoring the account & behavior enabling them to reach out to the Seller further. - I hope your Ping refund comes through swiftly for you. - Cheers.

Cheers, in my case-they seemed to have the product in stock, but never replied with a pickup address. In other cases-not having it in stock seemed to be the problem. I did get my refund processed, but the retaliatory feedback got to me, of course. They could repeatedly be bothered with THAT with me and others, but not replying to people's messages. I just look at the positive feedback percentage without reading individual feedbacks, most of their trades go smoothly, I'd probably give it a chance even after reading it. But I do hope that the fact that they don't complete the trade AND leave a retaliatory feedback, will give traders some fruit for thought.

Just a heads up the Seller has supplied their pick up address via response to feedback placed. Understandably this is possibly a hard pass for you after the experience you've endured. - Credit to TM for coming through with a prompt refund for you. - Cheers.

I haven't seen their reply with pickup address to my feedback, as TM doesn't notify if the seller replied to my feedback. I sent them two emails which remained unanswered, one-immediately after the purchase and another-a week later. Then I contacted TM for refund, they also contacted the seller asking to complete the trade and they didn't, again.

I have just received an email saying TM wouldn't remove the retaliatory feedback saying the trade is 0ver 45 days old! They also suggested that I would "file a report" Again??
The trade happened on 19 November, the retaliatory was left on 30 December-41 days between the events, I filed the report immediately, but haven't heard from TM, because it was during holiday times. It is not my fault that the deadline lapsed during this time, I filed the report on time. Is there any technical reason that TM can't remove feedback now? They wouldn't remove the trader, who's been doing it over and over again(this would remove their feedback from my profile).
I have 100% positive feedback, apart from this. I just filed another report and have two case numbers. Did anyone ever experience this? None of this is my fault.

I'm sure it will all work out for you eventually TM user.
But yes, these things take time unfortunately.
You should be able to keep track of where things are at via the "My Requests" link at the top of this page.

here is a reply from them right now:
Kia ora again,
We can't remove the feedback in this instance and do not intend to review this decision or enter into further discussion. I'm sorry this wasn't the answer you were looking for. I hope you can put this experience behind you and look forward to better trades.
Ngā mihi,Justin

Kia Ora TM user,
Reply with the fact your Dispute of retaliatory feedback was filed well within the 45 day limit - Make it easy for staff by providing the dates of Listing purchase/closure & the date Feedback was filed. - A breakdown in the company's response time is not yours to wear - Cheers.

I did and the reply below was their immediate answer. I did provide the background with the auction number and all the dates. Their reply is final. This is not right. Michelle, can you please look into it? thank you.

Kia ora TM user, just had a quick look for you and can see that feedback was removed, it all worked out for you in the end, as Callum said 🙂.

Thank you Michelle. After Justin refused to remove the feedback(he has all the information0the date of the trade and the date of the initial filing and still refused to do it).I
filed another dispute, which was shut down 3 minutes after I opened it(I could see it under "my requests). I have then tried to reach to the real team member through Tautoko bot, but real people are no longer available there. Lastly, I have filed the dispute with your financial team, saying that even though the PING payment was refunded long time ago, the feedback wasn't removed, asking for their assistance.
I don't know what worked from all of the above, but Gemz reached out to me and removed the feedback. Her email contained the link to an unrelated trade(not mine), not the one that I filed the dispute for. No apology or reassurance that Justin would be spoken to.
So, while I like Callum's optimism, the feedback wasn't removed following the usual process.
The trader left other retaliatory feedbacks is still happily trading.
