Misleading shipping costs

It was probably a bit of a mistake paying extra the money they asked for. I'm not sure why you did that?
The seller has the option of completing the deal with the original $69 shipping charge and a refund of the extra $51 you paid. Or cancelling and refunding the complete sale.
I'd just contact them and see what they say before you take it any further.

A bit depends on the exact shipping wording. Auckland super city goes from pretty much waiuku up to just north of wellsford and includes gt barrier and Kawau Island. BUT carriers zone their auckland area differently, never with any of the islands. Some carriers have an inner Auckland area (Papakura to Albany) and an outer Auckland area (papakura to Waiuku and Albany to Waiwera or Wellsford.) which is a different higher charge. Almost certainly heavy freight that would be carrying a large item like a bed would charge considerably more for the outer areas

Ive got a similar issue,
I won an auction, paid the amount won, plus the requested freight. (freight does seem low)
Seller then emailed me and said "obviously Im not going to send it for that price." At this stage I have only been offered to not purchase, but i have already paid. There has been no offer so far to add extra freight to cover his mistake.
I want the item i won and paid for. I paid the freight amount advertised,
I think this guy is more upset that his $1 no reserve auction went cheap than he is over low freight charge he set.

Up to you what you intend to do here limbar. Yes, in theory you could force him to complete the deal at the stated price and shipping cost. But to be fair you would probably want to pay the actual shipping cost if you are happy with the overall price with that added in. That way presumably both parties will be happy.
Just keep the communication up to hope for a successful conclusion.

flossy63 Community SuperuserYou won the Auction and formed a contact with Shipping they had displayed on the Auction, the seller should not be coming back asking for more, especially if they are Intrade, it is not an ethical thing to do, they need to learn to suck up their errors, as if it was more you may not have bid on the auction full stop and moved on to another seller, as the increased shipping may make the item not viable to buy,Do not fall into their trap and pay more, stand your ground as a contract was formed, seller asking for more is breaking the contract formed, pretty simple,In these cases if Seller will not send it and you have paid in full, make a dispute with Trade Me,as if they are doing this to you how many others are being bullied into paying more shipping too?,Sellers then may learn to put correct shipping on their auctions, it is not rocket science to work out,I am for one that would never go back and ask buyer for more, if I err on shipping where I have forgotten to change my shipping template on new item in my products when using an old sold template, I just suck it up, it happens, but good Intrade sellers will have adjusted shipping to cover these hiccups, packaging costs etc. and have a buffer,0
