Shipping cost estimates

Can an address search field be given for shipping estimates when listing an item? This would allow for much better estimates.
A quick test using a listing book a courier vs TM's book a courier service, I see prices that are quite different Wellington vs Upper Hutt/Lower hutt/Porirua for example.
I've been caught out a few times with having to cover extra shipping costs.

Gary-NZStocked Community SuperuserWhat many people do, is what you have just done, ie a test booking to different locations and get the quotes from that. Once you do it a few times you will know that it's always cheaper to send a box/parcel local than same island or inter island, and that other than local where boxes are cheapest, nationwide bag rates are often less than boxes. Even with boxes you can do some test bookings to get good estimates varying the sizes so you better know how to pack. Combining listings and sending together can change things of course too. Most things fit in to local, same island, inter island, but local area boundaries vary per courier.

Yeah it seems to be the only way at the moment. I was just hoping a trademe support person would see this and add it to the pile of things to do. One can hope!

Unfortunately there are things from 7 years ago that they said then they were in the process of fixing, that are still on the to do pile. It's a bit like a sand mountain.

You can also give feedback direct to the company's Teams - preferably through using the Link at the Bottom of the page you'd like to see a change in for the New Look Desktop site which has a 'Tell us what you think' link near the Bottom of most pages. - The Apps each have independent feedback paths found through 'My TradeMe'
