How to close my Ping Account

We can't close our Ping account, this is part of our Membership when we sign up to TradeMe - what you can do is ensure you unselect Ping as a payment option when creating your New Listings - Cheers.

Kia ora Robert, sorry for the confusion. If you started listings on the 15th June you may have ben part of a success fee free promo that we ran that day. As part of that promo Ping and Afterpay were the only payment options available, and the reason you may have buyers paying by Ping for some listings. Ping fees are much less than the success fee would have been at 2.19%.

To make things nice and smooth you can set your Ping account to pay out daily so that you don't have to manage adhoc payments when you sell something (it doesn't cost any extra and minimises the hassle).

Any unsold listings that were created on the 15th June, can be edited to remove Ping as a payment option before being relisted. 

I don't want Ping on my account at all.  its a rip off.  a fee on top of a fee.  Please remove it from my account ASAP.

@ftankmachine - you can't remove the ping account as its attached to all members, but if you are not intrade just remove it as a payment option AND ensure its not preselected when you list a new item

I tried that on my last auctions.  It doesn't matter if you deselect Ping as a payment auction.  Trade Me automatically uses Ping no matter what.  It really is a rip, especially as they say you can't just close your Ping account without closing your whole Trade Me account. And a fee on a fee as somebody else said.

I am considering reporting the situation to the Commerce Commission and Fair Trade people. Ping is a trap that you apparently can't get out of and none of this is explained when you open a Ping account.

If you're intrade yes you will have ping enabled and you can't deselect it. You can also use cash. If you are not intrade, you are not forced to use ping. I see your 2 auctions listed don't have ping on them

@cree5 - I absolutely agree it's just a scam $$.  A fee on top of a fee.  And I also agree about being unable to disable it as its ticked and greyed out.  TradeMe takes a fee then they take another fee. Greed and shame.   Ping is totally unnecessary and you 100% have my support if you want to go to toe ComCom about it.  Good on you.
