Fixed price offer request on closed listing that shows no watchers

How did you get on with staff when you went through to query this issue with them?

This is a known issue which was first reported 10 months back though I note it's not been filed under the Confirmed Bug section. - Have you viewed through both the New Look Desktop site & one of the Apps? - There were reports of items showing no watchers on the Desktop site though they did appear on the Apps.

Trade Me sent me a email the other day after seeing my post and advised the issue I am having is due to the upgrade of the site with some listings having issues while others are not affected.

For me the issue is the same on both the desktop version and the app when my listing closes I can see the number of views it had but not the watchers so when you get a fixed price offer request from a member you can’t make them a offer as the watchers are not visible on the closed listing even though it had watchers when it closed. I do note at this stage this issue is only happening on one of my listings other similar listings in the same category do show any watchers when the listing closes. I even created a completely new listing for the item and when it closed the exact same thing happened received the offer at a fixed price request but no watchers visible.

Just another one of those weird glitches that’s happening while the site upgrade is being rolled out to me the whole upgrade process has been very frustrating with no end in sight for a number of the ongoing issues.

This belongs in the Confirmed Bug section so it doesn't become overlooked - Thanks for the further input, this will be valuable for others too, in my experience if it's happening to me others are affected also, outside of the Basic troubleshooting steps. - Cheers.😊

Kia ora SJ, sorry you're having this problem sending out a fixed price offer. You might want to try My Products to get around this, you can set it to send out automatic fixed price offers and as My Products isn't affected by the changes to the site it could be a solution here. 

Hi Michelle thanks for the advice I already use My Products and have used it for a number of years now and it's great normally I don't do fixed price offers to watchers of my closed listings I usually just re-list the listing. The issue I am having is when a member requests a fixed price offer on one of my closed listings and there are no watchers visible on the listing therefore a fixed price offer can't be sent. The only time I would consider sending a fixed price offer is if a watcher requests it but on the problem listing I will set up the fixed price offer option on it via My Products and see what happens when it closes this time.

Another option outside of that working for you could be to relist the item with a lower price you would consider as if it was an FPO over a shorter 3 day Listing time to see if your requester takes advantage of this - I would state in the Listing Description you are unable to make FPO's due to the system upgrade process currently therefore you have lowered the price for a limited time only. - You just have to weigh up if it's worth your time when you may gain a purchaser at full price, How popular the item is will help you in deciding this. - If it doesn't sell at the lower price, on relisting you can keep the 'unable to make FPO's...' statement in that particular Listing - All the Best!

Thanks S with the problem listing I have now also edited it to include the make an offer option in the hope the watcher who requested a fixed price offer may see it and make me a offer on the listing and with also setting up the fixed price offer option for the listing when it closes in My Products I will see if either of these gets a response from the watcher.

How have you got on with this Listing having the Make an Offer available & setting the Auto FPO up, did it sell for you? 

Hi S I’ve had the make an offer option available on the listing but have had no offers yet. I am now able to make fixed price offers again on the listing to any watchers it had when it has closed but have had no response to any of my fixed price offers at this stage usually I set my start price to the lowest amount I am willing to sell an item for so if someone is not willing to pay the start price I am happy to just re-list it and if it doesn’t sell over time I’m prepared to just keep it.

We have had this problem for over 15 months, can't see any views and are unable to do any Fixed Offers post auction close time to any Watchlisters.

Customer Service went no where and merely told us to Relist the item.

We note that with the changes to Email messages they no longer seem to incorporate the Fixed Offer option so this may likely be the Timeline in the system where the issue arose. 

They generally only include the Relist item email.

This needs to be fixed as it's also likely to be why Trade Me sales have plummeted.
