Seller didn't realise they had Ping on the listing, unsure how to accept my Ping payment
AnsweredPurchased a lovely cabinet on trademe and the seller had included ping as payment option. So I paid that way, then received an email from trader saying she had never had a ping a/c. Just a genuine mistake, but the amount is on hold waiting for authorisation in my bank a/c. How do I retrieve it so I can pay her by other means?

Everyone has a Ping account, it's part of our Membership when we sign up to TradeMe. - Your Seller hasn't unselected the Ping payment option when they created their Listing. - Ping payments show instantly in Seller's accounts, your Seller will see the payment there now. - As you have paid by Ping your Seller needs to ship now or allow you to pick up the cabinet, they then can transfer the Ping amount to their Bank account if that's where they want it to be, use it to Top up their TradeMe account Or help pay for purchases.

Paying by Ping you are covered under the Buyer Protection Policy should something go wrong, Bank transfers & cash payments are not covered under Buyer Protection.

Your Seller needs to take ownership of the Terms of Sale & follow through to complete the Trade. - They have entered a legally binding contract. - All the Best!

you could consider going to the Trade me help pages as below and click the chat icon at the bottom right (marked in red) and ask trade me customer service for assistance on the trade and what the seller is telling you.
and/ or
you should go to the listing page capture screen shots where the seller had provided the ping payment option and contact trade me regarding what the seller is now telling you.

Based on how trade me advises you, you can then contact your bank regarding next steps on the payment that is on hold.

Hello Dianne. I think it would be better and easier for the seller to follow the instructions and get the payment at their end. Rather than you trying to claw it back yourself.

Callum thank you, just how does the seller get the payment back (and from where?) if they don't have a ping a/c? Where are the instructions to follow? Thanks :)

Thanks for all the answers and advice. Fortunately I have had an email from the seller saying it has all been sorted and I will pick up the cabinet today.
