Bidders unable to make bids?.
Hi, l listed an item $1.00 reserve, which started off with a hiss and roar and went up to $101 real quick, then during the listing duration l selected ping, and from then on have questions related to the potential bidders could no longer select a shipping option to make a bid, not only disappointingly did l miss out on money so did TM in their success fee. Why couldn't other bidders bid on it?. Had 55 watchers and over 800 views. listing: KP-310468 look forward to you response.

Sorry to read of your experience with that Listing,
This is something you will want to report directly to a TradeMe staff member enabling them to investigate what's happening in their New System. - The KP- numbers are processed through the new platform.
To contact TradeMe staff through "Live Chat" for assistance, If you select the Contact us Link at the very bottom of any TradeMe page the Chat Tab will Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your landing page screen. - Enter in the Chat bot which comes up once opened in a New conversation - Talk to person - and you are taken to entering a few details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff.The Live Chat manned hours weekdays are 8:00am - 5:30pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pmI can confirm the Chat is being transferred through to a Real Person this Anzac weekend, during the manned hours. - Cheers.1 -
A similar thing was reported to me by someone attempting to bid on one of my listings. I sent Trade Me screenshots from her email and they were looking into it. Maybe not an isolated incident?

Thanks Yvonne, l have sent evidence of a screen shot of the Question and Answer section to Trade Me.
l don't know how to proceed with the transaction, as only the bidders at the start could bid. What's Trades Me obligation to provide a selling / buying platform that works that doesn't advantage or disadvantage bidders and sellers and protect the sellers reputation....do l honour the top bidder knowing that l could have got more and other bidders were wishing to place bids. l am awaiting Trades Me response on what to do moving forward.0 -

Do come back and update this thread on what Trade Me suggests Alistair. I think there have been a few instances of this. So would be good to know what the resolution is. A tricky situation for sure.

I think Alister's case is unique to other reports of not being able to bid that we have seen reported through the Community Forum.
Alister's example is in being when he added Ping as a payment option to the Listing Bidders could no longer bid <quote> potential bidders could no longer select a shipping option to make a bid, <unquote>
Yvonne's example is when a bid was placed by the bidder <quote> she was told that she was bidding against herself, then she was logged out of the site? <unquote>.

Other examples we've seen are when a Make an Offer is accepted prior to the end of auction listing date where the Listing hasn't closed correctly remaining in active live search's & on watchlists although the Place a bid Tab no longer appears in the listing itself.
I have an item on my watchlist that I can't bid on – Help - Trade Me
And the Place a bid Tab missing on the Apps but is appearing on the Desktop site

Alister's report of potential bidders no longer able to select a shipping option to make a bid once he added Ping to the Listing is the first of this kind I have seen come through the Community - Cheers.
