No bid or buy now option

Hello Anthony Jack. There could be a number of reasons for that. The buyer might simply have not added a buynow, or the reserve has been meet which cancels any buynow that was there. In those cases you should still be able to bid though. Unless Trade Me has restricted the item. They do that sometimes if there are concerns about the item. They place it on hold until the seller comes back to them with further info to confirm the item is legitimate.

Maybe you could provide a screenshot or item number of an item you are having trouble with and we can check it out.

Would this be your own Listings or other Members Listings you are viewing?

Are you viewing on the Desktop site or through one of the Apps? - Have you tried through both?

If you take a couple of screenshots of the Listings without the Buy Now & Bid boxes & note the Listing numbers and contact TradeMe staff through "Live Chat" for assistance - Select the Contact us Link at the very bottom of any TradeMe page, the Chat Tab will Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your landing page screen. - Enter in the Chat bot which comes up once opened in a New conversation - Talk to person - you are taken to entering a few details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff. - You can enter Listing numbers in this window enabling staff to pull them up readily & attach a copy of the screenshots.

It is an auction you're in and is this on all Motors Listings or just the one?

Have you typed TradeMe.co.nz in your Oppo ph Browser to go through to the Desktop site to see if the issue persists? - I have the 'Place bid' Tab appearing on the Desktop site for the Motors Auction Listings I've just trialed for you.

If this is only an issue with one Listing restrictions may have been placed on that Listing preventing bidding whilst any further info' is being awaited from the Seller.

If this is an issue with all Listings and on the Desktop site as well ensure you're running the Latest up to Date version of your Browser - try clearing your cookies & cache. - Try closing TradeMe down completely, Restart after 30 odd seconds. - Uninstall & Reinstall the App.

I copy & paste screenshots in Community However you do get the insert image on the Top menu bar of the Comment section. - If you're going through to "Live Chat" for assistance directly from a TradeMe staff member you have a paperclip next to the chat window to attach your screenshot. - Cheers.

I'm pleased you've found a way to access the Bid Tab which is helpful for other Members also who come across the same issue.

Can you collect several Listing numbers to pass onto TradeMe staff directly enabling them to investigate this. - The 'Place bid' Tab missing in Motors in the android App hasn't come into the confirmed bug section so they may not be aware of this yet. - You can contact staff directly through my Comment above & here for you - Cheers.

I can Confirm the provided Listing numbers are coming up with the Place Bid Tab in the Desktop site - An interim workaround would be to type TradeMe.co.nz in your phone Browser to go through to selecting the Desktop site Or continue using your ipad until this Bug is resolved. - Cheers.

Can't bid, can't buy, can't offer, can't ask questions, can't watchlist... the hell is going on with Trade Me these days. This 1 listing I'm interested in, I can't view it on Desktop, App or Mobile Browser..

Hello Liam. What is the item number there? That sounds like a listing Trade Me has restricted. They do that to protect buyers for some items while they wait for the seller to confirm things.

I don't know why it would be restricted, as it still has 24 hours on the auction, and reserve isn't met and there is no buy now.

If you can type out the listing number in the URL - starting with a 5 - we could have a look.

Hey I have, twice. But the comment is pending.

The first one (the fridge) is showing closed sold. Something screwy though as the date it closed is in the future. Maybe the seller accepted an offer? I'm not too sure how those look on closing.

The second one is missing a digit so can't check that.

Strange also that view numbers keep increasing, even though it says closed but with tomorrows date. 

Yes it's still "live" Gary. You can get to it from a search and watchlist it. Even though it comes up as closed on the actual item page.

I know they were working on the Make an Offer system to start working again on products created through the new look. Perhaps the seller accepted an offer but that hasn't reflected through correctly to the actual item.

A shame the seller doesn't have other items so we could ask them if it has actually sold.

Interesting - the Listing #5157236299 Fridge Listing reported here has closed from watchlist now at said time of yesterday being 11:02am today, & hasn't made it to the Lost items - On Desktop site New Look - Running a search of the Listing number it is pulled up on the system However the last unanswered question hasn't been displayed nor now recorded the fact there was a further question. - Cheers.

I've having the same issue with listing # 5219914147. There is no option to place a bid so no one can bid on item! I had this on another item the other day too. And last week i had listings of my own and wondering if this was the same on my listings! What's going on?

Hi Lauren. Same issue as the others. That item has been sold via the make an offer system. However they get stuck on here and not properly removed. A known issue.
