No "Make an Offer" option; no "Fixed Price Offer" option to watchlisters
AnsweredI've had trouble with one of my listings, which didn't give me the option to select "make an offer" when I listed and when the auction closed with 3 people on the watchlist, I was not given an option to make a Fixed Price Offer to them - only option was to relist - very frustrating! Also, with this particular listing, as the auction progressed, I was only able to see how many views there had been etc when I opened the listing (not when I looked at the list of all my listings). The listing I've had trouble with was for Temuka pottery. Any ideas as to what is going wrong and how I can fix it (my other listings have been fine)?

Hello Lesley. Yes, a common issue that has been discussed many times on here over the last few weeks and months.
From what I am seeing, basically you can't fix it at the moment. Trade Me are working to increase functionality on those affected items. In the meantime you can use the "tell us what you think" link at the bottom of the affected item page to send through your report to Trade Me.

Thanks, Callum, for your helpful reply.

I have had no options to make fixed price offer for months and it is costing a lot more to relist and then losing the opportunity to sell items, this is very annoying. Is Trademe going to reimburse sellers for the extra costs and loss of opportunity to sell?

Reyyerne No, I doubt it. There is a workaround after-all. Use My Products.

Kia ora Cathy, the team are working on this, the systems behind the scenes are pretty complex so the upgrades are being rolled out category by category. In the mean time you can try My Products which is unaffected and can send out fixed price offers for you, you can also give us feedback through "Tell us what you think" toward the bottom of Trade Me pages. Information on the updates can be found here.

Hi there , could someone please let me know if the sellers option to offer a fixed price offer after sale ends is now a thing OF THE PAST? I would like to know as it has been very frustrating not having this option , it was why I preferred Trade Me to other platforms. I cant find an answer if it is truly temporary or a permanent thing. I get offers from other sellers , but I don't have this feature , is the reason the roll out changes OR certain sellers cant use this anymore. Thank you , appreciate your reply please.

Kia ora Kendra, we are making changes to the site which will make it easier for us to introduce new tools and features to make the site better. These changes are being rolled out gradually, while this is happening some features are temporarily unavailable for some listings. You can find more info on the changes here. The team are working incredibly hard and you can use 'Tell us what you think' to give us feedback. In the mean time My Products is unaffected, so you may want to give it a go. It's easy to use and lots of help here on Community if you need it.

Hi Michelle , thank you for your reply.. My products looks way to complicated and I don't have bulk items the same , just a casual seller. I will come back to Trade Me again , when the fixed price offer is available again. Do you have any idea when this will be back? Kind regards Kendra

PS , I just would like to know if the fixed price offer is now a thing of the past OR is it going to be reinstated? Thanks again :)

Kia ora Kendra, the fixed price offer feature is temporarily unavailable, however I don't have further details on when it will be available in the new system as the upgrades are happening gradually. You can use My Products even as a casual seller without quantities of stock, the tool will relist and send out fixed price offers, saving you time. All you need to do is keep an eye on your sold items as you normally would. You can import all your current sold and unsold items too so you don't even need to create the listings. There's lots of help and support here on Community if you do decide to give it a go 🙂

This is ridiculous. It cannot be that hard to make it possible to add a fixed price offer. It has been a function on trade me for years and years. They just want to make more money by people relisting. You can’t add buy now if you’re relisting an auction either. I’m going to use Facebook marketplace to sell from now on.

I totally agree Roxanne, Trade Me is not what it used to be which was once easy and straighforward! What bugs me is that they wont answer the question are we ever getting fixed price offer back. The alternatives they offer dont work . YES Market place maybe a better option !

Here is our answer folks from the Trade Me Help BOT ... Right now, there’s no definite word on whether the fixed price offer feature will return for casual sellers under the new KP system. Such a shame casual sellers have lost this crucial tool :(

Please trade me, allow fixed offer on all general listings if there are watchlisters. And if you are upgrading systems (you seem to be doing it all the time!!) make sure the fixed offer is not affected by that so we can actually get business done. Its unfair when we have attracted watchlisters and we cannot make fixed offers.
