Authenticating your account will make it more trusted and allow you to list items.
Why become authenticated
Authenticating your Trade Me account makes it more trusted and unlocks important features, like being able to list items for sale. Authenticated accounts have a red star (
) next to their username.
Getting authenticated
To authenticate your account, you can either:
- top-up your Trade Me account with $1.
- purchase something on Trade Me using Buy Now, and pay with Ping.
What you can do with an authenticated account
Members with an authenticated account can:
- list items for sale
- place bids over $5,000
- use Make an Offer when buying items
- use Buy Now when using a payment method other than Ping
- use the Questions & Answers section on listings
- purchase 'authenticated accounts only' listings
- place bids on more than five separate auctions at once.
