This often happens with either dodgy listings, or listings where Trademe have asked the seller to provide proof they have the goods, and the seller has not provided such proof. You'll usually get an email from Trademe Trust & Security as well. All legit. Happens regularly for higher priced items like PSP consoles, Mobiles etc. The email from Trademe will be along the lines of this one.. Hi Gary-NZStocked We have concerns about a listing which you participated in or viewed recently: item description here DO NOT COMPLETE THIS TRADE. The time to negotiate shipping is before placing a bid, as the delivery cost is usually part of the buying decision. If it was stated on the auction, then that's what the buyer should pay. Best thing to do is ask the buyer for their address so you can prepare them a quote for the shipping, as of course, you can't get a quote without their address. Once you know the quotes, go back to the buyer and let them know. Suggest that if they would prefer to pay you to pack and they then arrange courier collection themselves, then you are ok with that, if that's what you want to do, else simply say, ...
Yes, like Arthur says. Just like activating doesn't create a listing, deactivating doesn't withdraw a listing. It's been this way since My Products first came on the scene. Deactivating simply stops the listing from relisting when the current listing closes, or sending out a fixed price offer, until you activate it again. Activating in the list usually creates a listing on it's next update cycle (every 15-20 mins), unless you activate from within the product in which case a listing is created straight away.
Hi Kathryn. In addition to what Callum says, if you go to your My Trademe page, you will see near the bottom on the left it says Book a Courier. If you click on that and then choose Something else I want to send you can put in some details eg a bag size, or a box size. Then look up addresses in various locations around NZ eg same city, same island, other island, and use that address with a made up name like Joe Bloggs, go through the quote procedure but DO NOT click the final Book Courier button or you will get charged. You can press the back button bottom left on that final screen to go ba...
I'm not familiar with the iPhone app, but on the Android app you open the app, go to My Trademe, bottom right, then click on Items I'm selling. Once in your list of items you are selling, find and click on the listing you want to edit, then part way down you will see an Edit Listing link. Click that. Once in the listing you can add photos or change existing at the top of the screen.
If you have not heard from the seller, and you have paid by internet banking rather then online via Ping or Afterpay, don't forget to send the seller your delivery address. It's a good idea to confirm to the seller how you paid, how much you paid, and if you used any special references etc so they can trace your payment promptly. A very handy feature when you send your address, is that there is a Delivery Instructions box where you can write a short note to the seller eg Hi Joe, I've paid today :) or similar. The great thing about this message is that it's even viewable by the seller on Tra...
Much the same as they don't identify the same in descriptions. I have a fav search that shows over 3500 listings with contact details in them right now, but do Trademe do the same thing.....no. In most cases, it's repeat offenders that do it month after month, year after year despite weekly CW reports.
Yes, the location of where the goods are, should be used for searches but unfortunately the location on Trademe for searches for things to buy etc is based on the members registered account location, rather than the goods location. Makes searching for things using the locations filter pretty pointless unfortunately. Trademe do allow dropshippers when registered as such with them but there is no search filter that picks these up and it's very commonly abused. Approved dropshippers must state what country the goods are coming from in the listing detail, but many don't.
The shop you bought it from would insist you brought it back to them before they would consider a refund, and you should do the same.
Unfortunately, as you will know, an envelope with a single Kiwistamp on it has a max allowable thickness of 6mm, so no wonder the earbud got squeezed out. Especially as you had offered to send them a return courier bag, I would not refund as you have not received the item back to be able to test it. Not much point either suggesting the buyer start an investigation with NZ Post as they will most certainly decline. You may want to offer the buyer a partial refund to minimise the loss to you both, but that's up to you.
