Hello Nathan. Unfortunately this happens from time to time. Especially with cars. You are able to request your fees back from Trade Me so you are not left out of pocket for a failed trade. To do this refer to the help file I'll link below. I would wait for that approval to come through first before you do anything else like relist or leave negative feedback. 3 days is not THAT long for a buyer to get in contact. The fee request will generate an email from Trade Me to the buyer to remind them of their obligations.

S Community SuperuserEditedKia Ora Nathan,Sorry to read you've been mucked around with that Trade,TradeMe do allow Buyers 7 days to complete payment of purchases, if messaging was enabled for your Listing it pays to double check your Buyer is not trying to communicate this way which is a common mis-connection between Buyers and Sellers. - If there are none or this was not enabled it would pay to email your Buyer to let them know you are cancelling the Trade to relist your car as you have not received any contact from them.If you do have to create a New Listing to Relist the car - under the circumstance TradeMe may be able to contact your Buyer for you, if TradeMe receive no response from your Buyer they may help you with the Listing fees so you only pay once for your Listing However you will want to confirm this with them first.
To contact TradeMe staff through "Live Chat" for assistance If you select the Contact us Link at the bottom of any TM page the Chat Tab will Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your landing page screen, there may be a slight delay in this appearing.
Enter in the Chat bot which comes up once the Chat icon is selected - Talk to person - you will be taken to entering your details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff.The Live Chat manned hours weekdays are 9:30:am - 5:00pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pm- Cheers.0 -

I have had a sale fall through. My item sold on June 8th, contact was made by the seller on June 9th via instant messaging asking for bank details. Bank details were given and a payment for the full amount appeared in my account on June 11th, though no details were no details were given with the payment, I am only assuming it was from the buyer.
Item was for pick up only in Upper Hutt Wellington, and the buyer is from CHCH. I messaged June 14th, 15th and 18th asking for a pickup date. No reply. I message on June 19th stating that if I haven't heard back by June 22nd I will assume they don't want it and informed them I intend to relist it. No reply. On June 22nd I inform the buyer via instant message that I will relist it as no contact has been made. Today, June 28th I have informed the buyer that if there is no contact by Midday Saturday June 29th I consider the trade cancelled.
If the buyer has not made contact by tomorrow midday, what are my options?. There are no success fess to refund as it was a zero fee for $1 reserve auction. I intend to relist it.

S Community SuperuserKia Ora Dan,You have waited a long time there, though it sounds to me like you wound the Trade up with your Buyer on the 22nd with your message <quote> On June 22nd I inform the buyer via instant message that I will relist it as no contact has been made. <unquote>A few things to check here...
- Have you checked your emails for any from your Buyer? - Check your spam/junk folders also incase your Buyer has attempted to make contact this way with more specific detailed pick up or self organised transportation info'.
- Have you emailed your Buyer at all? - As you have a full payment it is clear they were wanting the purchase.
- Have you placed an initial Feedback requesting the Buyer make contact regarding Pick up? - Feedback can be changed when the Trade is resolved or not though it can only be changed the once and often gets a result.
- Benefit of doubt over this weekend being a long one, your Buyer may not have their device in hand or coverage area - by mid Monday if you have no response, either email or messaging, contact TradeMe staff through their "Live Chat" facility for assistance in reaching out to your Buyer for you.
- Most Important - You can't Relist the item before refunding the payment made as your Buyer is the current owner having made full payment. - You will need their Bank account to refund if your Bank doesn't reverse payments.
Hopefully you have an email from your Buyer sitting there Otherwise keep all correspondence friendly & polite, one never knows what may have happened to your Buyer, I hope they are well and this wraps up asap for you. - All the Best. - Cheers.0
