How do I get payment from ping?

Kia Ora Georgie & Craig,
Sorry to read you 've had a suprise with that Ping payment,
When you start a New Listing, payment options are set to Ping - NZ Bank account & Cash - by default. This is on the Price & Payment page. - You need to untick the payment options you don't want on your Listing(s). - You can edit to remove the Ping option if it is on other Listings you may have running.
You can set up Automatic or Manual Ping transfers out to your Bank account - Refer to the Help section Withdrawing your balance for further Setup info'.
Once your bank account is setup for the Transfer TradeMe will credit your Bank account with $.01cent - a 4 digit code will be placed with this - Keep an eye on your Emails for one from TM Trust & Safety Team requesting the code - Reply to that email with the code which verifies to TM they have the correct Bank account for your Ping deposits - Your transferred payment amount(s) will be made following that. - Cheers.

Kia Ora Billy,
As in my Comment above - a 4 digit code will be placed with the 1 cent which has appeared in your Bank account - Keep an eye on your Emails for one from the TradeMe Trust & Safety Team requesting that code - Reply to that email with the code which verifies to TM they have the correct Bank account for your Ping deposits - Your transferred payment amount(s) will be made following that.
I understand you have replied to an email requesting your personal details - did this email also ask for the code? - if not you will be expecting a separate email - Cheers.

Kia Ora Jan,
Everyone has a Ping account, this is part of your TradeMe Membership account when you sign up, it isn't a new feature - Members can use the funds for purchases - Topping up their TradeMe account or Transfer the funds out to their Bank account.
Refer to the Help files Ping – Help - Trade Me.
Earlier this year 2024, Ping became an auto-ticked payment option by default when creating a New Listing. - This remains an optional feature, it is not compulsory and all Members are able to un-select the Ping option when choosing their Listing Payment options on the price & payment page as you normally would. - In this case you have overlooked your payment options when you created your Listing - Instructions on how to move this lone Ping payment into your Bank account are given within this Post thread, if this is the option you want - Cheers.

I never wanted a digital wallet nor do I ever wish to participate with one. I've sold an item and even though the buyer has received the item I have received no payment whatsoever. It seems Trademe have overstepped and taken the liberty of taking that payment for their own and now I have a credit with them to spend with them! I've used Trade me since 2004 and have sold and purchased a large quantity of items and never expected the literal theft of funds. I'm disappointed, this policy will only drive more members away to other platforms like marketplace and worsen Trademe's already sticky financial situation. This should be opt in, and all I want is my payment into my bank account as per my payment instructions.

Kia Ora shaun52,
Ping became an auto-selected payment method when creating a listing for all Members in October 2023, this is on the Price & Payment page as you create your Listings, it's not compulsory for Casual Sellers, you just unselect it as you go through setting your prices on that page.
You can transfer the Ping funds out to your Bank account Manually or set up Automatic transfers out - Refer to the Help file below to set up the transfer - Note: you have to do this from the Desktop site, it's currently not able to be set up via the Apps. - Cheers.

You missed my point, I can only assume it's because Trademe has stopped caring for their long term customer base.
The option for allowing Trademe to take payment should always be an opt in policy never an opt out; as members have never given permission to Trademe to take payment. Doing so is deceptive and in my veiw unethical and amounts to theft leading to mistrust! This veiw will not only be held by me, but many other members whom will move to other platforms to do their trading.
When Sam Morgan set up this platform it was simple, the fees were sensible and it never dictated financial consideration for the goods on auction to be at Trademe's discretion.
The model worked, it was hugely successful and then sold to Fairfax who are now ruining this once great NZ made, bastion of consumer to consumer trading. The corporate overreach will be Trademe's downfall, unless it can show some more respect for the founding members.0 -

I'm a Member the same as you, I'm not TradeMe staff - I voluntarily help other Members in navigating the systems in my own free time, I am not paid for this. - You've come through a Post on "How do I get payment from ping?" - You've stated <quote> Trademe have overstepped and taken the liberty of taking that payment for their own and now I have a credit with them to spend with them! <unquote> which I have corrected for you and given you the pathway to receive your funds. - I have remained unbiased in my response coming to purely assist you in retrieving your money, why? Because I am here to help Members, not to add fuel to the fire. - You are welcome for the assistance provided so you can retrieve your money.
