Who puts feedback first

Kia Ora Jackie,
There is no written rule or procedure for who places feedback first - some Sellers place this when the item is sent to let their Buyer know the parcels on the way - others await the Buyer to ensure they are Happy with the Trade, Item etc. - It's courtesy to let your Seller know your parcel has Landed Safe, confirm you are Happy & Thank them for the Trade - Cheers. 😊

Hi Jackie, like S says, there is no written rule. Trademe say,
Placing, removing and editing feedback.
Both the buyer and the seller can place feedback on each other at the close of a successful auction. You should place feedback on a trader whenever you complete a trade. Placing feedback is an important (but optional) part of the Trade Me process.
The thing is, people have differing ideas about when a trade is completed, so are unsure who goes first.
When selling, I tell people that I place feedback when courier has collected the goods and they are on the way, which is what I do.
When buying, I place feedback when I have received the goods and are happy they are as advertised and as expected.

There is no set etiquette - we all kinda do our own thing.
I do my feedbacks once a week for the everyone who has come and collected their items. Regardless if we have received a feedback or not.
People that have had items couriered to them, I like them to place feedback first so I know they are happy and have their item.
If you are a buyer, it doesn't hurt to take the plunge and leave feedback first. It may take a few days for the favor to be returned, because lots of sellers are like us and have a "Feedback day" (mines usually Monday or Tuesday). but when buyers do leave feedback first we appreciate it, it removes any anxiety about there been or not been a problem with the trade.

As a seller, I try to place feedback at the time that I send my parcels. Unless there’s a problem with the item, my job is done once the parcel has been picked up by the courier. It’s helpful to let the buyer know that their item is on the way, that way they can get in touch if it doesn’t arrive.
As a buyer, I generally place feedback once my item arrives, that way I can let the seller know that their item has arrived safely and that I’m pleased with the trade.
But seriously, don’t get to hung up about who should place feedback first. I know some people will only place feedback once they have received positive feedback. That strikes me as being a bit petty, but there you go.0 -

As a Seller I place feedback same day courier has picked up, my side of trade is done / completed unless there is an issue, non delivery etc..
this is part of my standard feedback letting buyers know parcel is on the way
.....Your combined parcel has been picked up by courier today & is on its way A+++, Link to track your item can be found on your won Auctions & Automated Courier Booking E-Mail via Trade Me,...
but weeks down the track you still get buyers asking for the tracking number as have not received their parcel, 🤦♀️sigh!
