The person I talked to in the live chat was hopeless, brushing it off as a bug and suggesting I disable the VPN which I don't have in the first place.

Kia ora Silvia. I'm sorry you had that experience on chat. The confusion may have arisen because there is a different issue that some users are experiencing when adding photos to listings which is a bug; whereas this problem does appear to be device/media app specific (as far as I'm aware).
It's worth getting in touch to let us know if you're encountering this so we can offer some troubleshooting tips or to determine if it is in fact a different issue.0 -

Device specific issues like this aren't something we can resolve.
I would recommend using the desktop site. You can get there from a computer if one's available, or from your device by heading to Trade Me in your browser and selecting the 'Desktop site' link at the bottom of the page.0 -

What is translated is you can do this through your specific device if you go through the Desktop site rather than the App - Cheers.

Pretty crap service from trade me tbh. 9 months on and still no fix. Plus it's affected a lot of users so you would think they would prioritise it. Used to be able to easily load photos from my saved albums but now when I select media picker, it only shows camera and download folders.

Things care getting worse now. Some auctions you can't zoom in on photos. I assume it's the trademe app not Web based. This was handy to identify singular items in a bulk auction or condition of items. I just ignore these auctions now.

Yep, you can't zoom in to verify that an item is authentic. Looks like they're stripping the app down to it's bare bones and have removed a lot of features from the new look eg, can no longer view user profiles in the question section. Cannot view the bid history after an auction has ended. No alerts when someone outbids you, just email notifications. The worst part is it's painfully slow.

I am having this issue also, what have you changed? Please change it back! Spent time putting photos seperately for easy trademe listing , now it takes ages to find photo's by scrolling. If you wish to keep people listing this needs to be rectified

1 year later and this exact Same Issue is Happening to me again , Anyone else ?
Ive been using chatgpt to try find a solution but nothing has worked. This is super frustrating as i have 10000s of photos so all of my photos for trademe are saved in albums that now wont show up0 -
Hi. Still happening to me. I've upgraded phone and no change. My only suggestion would be to go to the album you want and tag your photos as favourites. Trademe seems to have access to a favourites folder. I haven't tried it yet.

Still the same issues that are not fixed yet. Can't be that hard when all other apps can access any albums or photos in Android phones.

I haven’t listed on trade me for over a year due to this problem, but it finally has been fixed.

Kia ora rgoh, what version of the app are you on? Can you try deleting the app and reinstalling it, sometimes this solves the problem, even if you are running the most recent version.
