Won bid but seller doesn't fulfil the trade
AnsweredGood day I won a bid for a tallboy but the seller doesn't fulfil the trade. First seller said they in Australia and will contact when they return and now 2 weeks later they say that the tall boy has caught fire. They have made excuses. What can be done

I hope it wasn't the whole house that caught fire and that everyone is ok. Not much you can do but look to buy from someone else. Presumably you haven't paid them any money yet, but if you have and haven't had a refund from the seller, click the Dispute resolution link on the listing and let Trademe know. You may want to add the seller to your favourites in case the Tallboy miraculously recovers and is listed again, although if it does, you may not want to buy from them again.

Hi William & Roberta. Not a great deal. Do you think the seller didn't get the price they wanted for the item? Was it a $1 reserve that sold for a low price?
About the best you can do is leave appropriate feedback to explain what happened. But you might want to be careful that what they are saying isn't true. If it really caught fire there would be evidence of that. You could ask for proof if you wanted. Sometimes it's best to just walk away and forget about it. Truthful or not clearly they don't intend to sell the item to you.

OK noted
I was the only bidder and I think they wanted more for the tallboy and because the bid closed they made excuses not to continue but rather keep the tallboy themselves anyway I am just bringing this up because I don't think it was fair and they most likely do this again. They most likely resell at a later time for more. All good anyway not wishing to continue only hope that somehow it can be noted/recorded in case they do this again thanks

Kia Ora William & Roberta,
Sorry to read of the unfortunate events surrounding this Trade,
The first thing to do would be to request a refund if you have paid for the Tallboy. - If your refund request is not forthcoming you fill out the Dispute resolution forms through the Tab in your Won items and place feedback on the Seller - As accidents do happen, like the fire, keeping feedback to the fact is best, any derogative statements look bad on the person placing this.
If no payment has been made then you will want to look for alternative one. - Not much else can be achieved with this Trade - All the Best - Cheers.

Just seen your extra information in conversation William & Roberta,
As you are concerned whether your Seller is being Honest you could Save them as a favourite Seller so you are emailed with further daily listings - should the same tallboy be relisted you can report this to TM staff using the Community watch Link at the bottom of the Listing, see pic below. - You will want to keep all correspondence with this Seller so far as evidence if you do need to file a report coming forward - Cheers.
