Searching - how to turn off that "Display results in XYZ category" thing

Yes, it's frustrating and has been mentioned many times, but there doesn't seem to be any motivation on Trade Me's behalf to change it. When I emailed about it once years ago I was told that buyers "Love It" I didn't get a reply to my further email asking how they had determined that.......

I had a particular problem when one of my lines that was popular suddenly stopped selling. I did some research and found it had effectively disappeared. An overseas seller had spammed an incorrect category with the same item. Trade Me search then determined that as most were listed in that category that must be the correct one. My item was no longer coming up on search.

When I contacted Trade Me about it their response was to also move my items to that (incorrect) category so they will show up again. Not ideal is it?

I agree - This is Not ideal at all - Buyer's are missing out on viewing All products they are searching for Therefore Sellers are missing out on Sales - I come across an item of interest, venture further, then search for the item of interest and get taken to an xyz category where this item isn't in! - Even though I have searched a keyword in the specific Title of the item! - Search should be by item Keyword - Not a generic xyz category which discludes all items And items should be removed if they are in the incorrect category.

You should list an item in the most appropriate category for the item. If you list in a second category, you should list the item in the two most appropriate categories.
