You can't go back to being a personal account once you have chosen to be In Trade, but you can start a personal account if you don't already have one.

Thanks for that. Trademe could not tell me! Should be a button you can change it with. So starting a new account gets rid of all history etc not good.

Hi Susan. In the help file it does mention that being in-trade, and switching on the logo is permanent. I think I remember that you are also warned of that when you do change over.
It is obvious why if you think about it.
It would be confusing for buyers if an in-trade seller suddenly became private. For example I could set a bid on an item you are selling, thinking you are in-trade, with all the protection that gives. Then you turn off the logo and suddenly you are a private seller with the CGA, FTA and Buyer Protection no longer applying. An unscrupulous seller could do this multiple times.

Kia Ora Susan,
Within your Listing Descriptions you can add a note to reference your alternate account for feedback reviews therefore all credit isn't lost - Cheers.

It does seem like worth the loss of history to get rid of the crippling success fees. All trademe promotions and enticement emails are always heavily aimed to the casual sellers and sent to In Trade Sellers! TM are not keen to reward the In Trader sellers for loyalty. And what really irritates us is the spam emails they send, promoting special no-fees periods, NOT available to in trade sellers. The marketing folk in TM have no EQ

I never got the promo emails on my in-trade account bridebestfriend? Maybe it just felt like you did, if you have emails from both accounts coming through to the same email client or reader. Or it could be that I have my email preferences set up differently on my in-trade account.
But anyway yes, it will be the end of them now casual sellers have moved to this new model.

On my app I am bombarded with casual seller promotions which I cannot access. It is depressing

Ah gotcha. You did say emails, so I was confused there. I'm not a big user of the App, but yes that could be set up differently I think!

The end of promotions for casual sellers?

I guess so. The majority of promos were for no success fees, or a percentage off success fees. Those are obviously pointless now. Perhaps there could still be the odd 1 or 2 coming through for Motors or even Property in the future for casual sellers?
