Are fully-tracked shipping services required?
Hey all,
Does anyone know the exact policy regarding fully-tracked shipping service requirements? We have some partially tracked or untracked shipping options and wanted to check on the Trademe policy regarding these services. Is a fully-tracked end-to-end service required for all sales?
Thank you!

Trademe don't specify how you arrange delivery, other than using the method you say you do eg Post or Courier.
In the Help pages here, they make mention.
Organising pick up and shipping – Help - Trade Me

There is also mention in the Ping T & C...
Buyer Protection policy – Help - Trade Me

Full tracking not required no. As long as it has a delivery scan I'm sure you are OK. Untracked is not covered though. You will need to take that risk on yourself.
The Buyer Protection policy says;
"However, if the item is tracked and shows that it was signed for, we'll consider the item delivered, meaning the seller isn't responsible."
So if you want to be really sure you have fulfilled your obligations under that you need tracking AND signature required.
There was a lot of discussion around this when the policy was implemented. Sellers were concerned it meant everything now had to be signature required or a buyer could claim non delivery. However TM took a common sense approach. They will review individual cases if shown delivered but without signature and make a judgement call.
