Sounds like a phishing scam. I would not click any links in that email and contact Trademe on Live Chat to get them to confirm. Go to Contact us page, link at bottom of any TM page here, wait a short while and live chat/Help blue balloon will appear bottom right, click to start.

Hi Diana, you don't need to purchase or sell with your Trade Me account - you just need to log in. It looks as if you've done that now so your account won't be closing.
If you get any other messages to say it will be, or if you wish to discuss anything else, you can use Live chat to speak to an agent right away. 🙂1 -

That's a bit rough and perhaps an error on TM's part otherwise they may be confirming you are still onboard there. Best contact TM staff via their Live Chat facility for assistance here in keeping your account open for you - Cheers.
