If they are less than 20mm thick, then you can send them via nz post using stamps - $4.60. The cheapest but note they are not tracked

What's best will depend on lots of factors that only you can decide eg do you want post, courier, collection or drop off, sizes, but indicative current pricing would be as follows.
NZ Post letter rate 260mm x 385mm x 20mm 1kg 4.60
Pass the Parcel A4 size bag use your own packaging 5.25 local, 5.30 same island, 5.60 other island.Local zoned big box rate via NZ Post or Aramex courier depending on if you book through Trademe's Book a Courier or another booking company 5 - 8
On top of those, you would need bags, labels, flat stiff cardboard etc, or boxes for bulk lots.
I posted this over an hour ago, but it got stuck in TMs Pending system, so have removed some formatting, deleted original and reposted.

Thanks Gary. That's a great help.I didn't know whether to roll them or flat pack them.Seems flat is the accepted way as I suspected.Cheers.

I posted a picture to a friend recently and took it to the post shop as I didn’t know how many stamps were needed for the size envelope I had. I had put a piece of stiff cardboard in so it didn’t bend and the staff member told me you couldn’t post envelopes with stiff cardboard as the envelopes needed to bend in the machines?

Kia Ora Janine,
I think the word the Post shop needed to use is semi flexible - Not thick stiff plank like cardboard - plenty of photo's, pictures, pattern sheets etc. travel through these machines with strong cardboard protection which bends without creasing or permanently bending and without damage to the content being protected inside - Cheers.

Yes, Card is better than traditional fluted cardboard for letter rate postage, as after all, the flutes in cardboard are there to give stiffness at minimum added weight and using a cheaper recycled paper core (medium) with starch glue compared to the cardboard liners (outside and inside layers). I save card from cracker, cereal, biscuit boxes to use in envelopes to add extra firmness and protection without adding too much thickness. E Flute corrugated (which is that ultra thin corrugated 1.5-2mm thick) is also handy.
