when you book a courier on the Trade Me Book a Courier,
the payment comes out of your account and will show on your Trade Me Statement with booking references,
if you go to book with not enough funds in your account you will get a red warning insufficient Funds, so need to top up your account,
Once the Trade Me book a Courier was introduced, with pick ups from your door, I was hooked, no more trips to post shop, which was Saturday no more Queuing etc. as my work hours prevented me from going during week,
To get more info Find the Book a Courier help pages,
and when Booking make sure your parcel physically will fit into the sized courier bags you book it at, do not just sit your books on the flat 2 measurements,

Kia Ora Dorothy,
Your Trade Me Account is charged for any bookings you make, and you can top up your account via credit or debit card as you're booking a courier.

Just for clarification,
are they NZ Post bags, or just plain courier bags?,
if you have pre paid NZ post bags that are tracked you can get them picked up from your door, using this link,
no need to go to a post shop, https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/bookapickup/address
If you have just plain unprinted courier bags, then they are good for Trade Me where you book online and pay for the courier,

Also consider Pass the Parcel once you cleared your NZ Post bags.
Nothing wrong with a combination of TM book a courier and Pass the Parcel (PTP).
Often PTP is cheaper for rural addresses.
