Automated tracking details- what details does the buyer receive?
AnsweredHi! I'm using the book a courier feature from my sold tab and just wondering, does the buyer get all the details that show up on my booking confirmation page? i.e. my pickup address and the cost of the shipping paid etc?
Or do they simply get sent a generic email with a link and tracking number?
Thanks :)

The buyer receives an email like this which has a clickable link to the courier online tracking. No other info.

Hi, they only get the link to their won auction and Link to tracking page to track their item,
They do not get any other information,
they do not know what you paid for actual Courier unless they use it themselves,
Aramex have 2 Letter codes in conjunction with sized booked,
NZ Post has a lot of Numbers, so no idea, I have not worked that out yet,
so regular uses know, if it has been booked incorrectly on Receiving their parcel, ie paid for a big Parcel JJ code but only booked as a small bag JQ code!! and seller pocket the difference, !!, I have struck this quite a few times,
This is all they receive

Thanks Carol- youre a gem with that additional info. I did wonder about the price paid showing as only Aramex is available to book with a $1.33 price reduction as I quoted the NZ Post rate. I wondered if the buyer might see this and ask me to $1.33 refund by bank account, the same way they paid me- ugh! In the end I kept pressing back and refreshing and NZ Post finally showed up for availability, whew.

If you are Intrade or not, you are allowed to charge more than what the courier charges, to cover costs, Packaging, Ink Labels etc if you print your own, as long as it is not excessive, ie $1- $2 is fair,
and the intrade Discount, once the fees we pay on shipping are added on, comes back to casual rate,
So never charge less than the casual rate as it averages out to casual rate,
If your shipping is clearly on the auction, which buyer forms a contract with when they bid, they have no right to come back and ask for a part refund,
If NZ post unavailable they are still getting a courier service,
One reason I do not state what carrier I use on my auctions, so if one is not available I just use the other, so as a seller you have flexibility, then scenarios like yours won happen,
They agreed to the shipping price but not an actual carrier,
in Lock down March 2020 when were locked out of Book a courier, I still had NZ Post Red Bags etc, so was able to get my last auctions on their way following Monday, picked up at 5am, by my Rural postie Brother in his post van on his way to depot back then, (not now sold his runs), while I ZZZzzzzz, it did cost me a bit extra, but a relief I was not holding on to auctions paid for for all those weeks, they got to their destinations within 2 days,
But there were no issues with the buyers they were very grateful, when I told them, they were coming via NZ Post (Tracked) because they did not know what carrier I was using anyway, and they still got sent tracked,
Just a note sometimes when only one courier shows, type in address manually, it will usually bring the other courier up if it is available for that address,

Harley, the seller is the one to ask. Just send them an email.
