Seller located in Auckland, but ship from China, it's deceiving.
When searching, there needs to be an option to select 'New Zealand only' for shipping location for those of us that want to support New Zealand sellers, and don't want to end up buying Cheap Chinese Crap, as I have. I spent a considerable amount of money on a set of Binoculars, only to find when they FINALLY arrived that they were shipped from China, and were VERY cheaply made. At the moment there is only a 'Location' tab which is to select sellers who say they are located in New Zealand locations, or just New Zealand itself. But there are NUMEROUS sellers, for instance, that have their location set as Auckland, but EVERYTHING they sell is directly shipped from China, and can take WEEKS sometimes months for delivery. I avoid any sellers that are listed as 'International', (unless really desperate for an item), but there are lots of sellers that cheat the system by saying they are located somewhere in New Zealand but goods are actually shipped directly from overseas. 'Drop Shipping' is ok, but let the buyer have the ability to select only those being shipped from within New Zealand.

Yes Glenn. There have been many discussions and emails to Trademe about this over the years, including this one here...

Yeah, you have to keep bugging Trade Me on this. There are sellers who try to game the system.

Some sellers are lying about where the items are. Been caught with it myself thinking its here and then takes a month to come from some other country. Also there are so many ridiculous prices on overseas items clogging up the areas. You can often find it here in nz avilable for an example $30 and they are asking $150 or more. Its ridiculous as nobody will ever buy it when they can get it here at a 1/4 of the price. Lego is a bad one for it.

Sylvia, the T & C those dropshipping sellers agree to abide by state: 2.2. Clearly state within any listing the country the items will ship from.
If this was not stated in the auction, use the Community Watch function on the listing or others to let Trademe know. I wish things were like my post... https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/community/posts/4418887998989/comments/4418904551053

Totally agree with you all. I was refused being able to open my TradeMe account from overseas, even though I'm Kiwi (TM rules said ONLY NZ and Australians can join) . Now I'm back there are lots of sellers (dropshippers) stating they are from
China. Deceitful....0 -

When browsing a members listings today it shows Expected delivery in 10 - 17 business days, but when looking at the listing page itself it doesn't say the number of days, just Estimated delivery times in business days, but no mention of the number of days?

Surely it's an easy thing to put the delivery target in the shipping section of listings so we don't have to flip back and forwards when comparing options. This applies to all listings using the new shipping templates and it's a right pain.
I wouldn't buy from this dropshipper anyway, especially as they are not approved by Trademe, or if they are, they are breaking T & C by not saying where the items are coming from which could be why they have a 50% feedback rating.
Yes, I have reported using the Tell us what you think link and reported numerous times via CW.

Yes! I noted these 'Estimated delivery times in business days' not containing the number of days in an actual Listing in a Post a couple of weeks back though can't find that Post atmo', - some Sellers state these days in the shipping template, Many don't. - I agree, where these days appear in a search list view of items it should be an easy fix to have them appear in the actual Listing as well - the info' is already there so why isn't it reading from the same path? - Cheers.

If an item comes from china how on earth can trademe be so inept at either changing the item to show as international or block the seller until they change their ways
