Shipping More than one item
AnsweredI use my products to list my 85 products. On some auctions its now started adding in the Shipping pricing: Shipping more than one item No extra charge
I have contacted TM and the fix is I have to edit every listing when it goes up. They are making it harder and harder to trade

Hi Karen,
go into my Products, go into the listing and make sure under the shipping,
Combining Shipping - ____ Include combined shipping offer is "Unticked",
so if it has been accidently ticked and you have copied that auction etc it will appear on all auctions copied from an ticked auction, it happens,
I have been caught by that before, but have never ticked it?, or maybe accidentally while scrolling?,

Hi Karen, thanks for posting.
That particular shipping offer means that your buyers will only pay for shipping once for the same item, but not for multiple, different products.
If you don't want to offer that and would rather charge shipping per quantity rather than per item, this can be done in bulk by doing a CSV import and ensuring that the 'shipping price per quantity' field is set to TRUE or left blank.
Keep an eye on your email inbox - I'm getting in touch to get some further details from you.

Hi .. I purchased 2 x items from 2 different vendors .. as I was buying more than one item, the second item was offered at 50C shipping, which I accepted. Next thing I get the 2nd vendor wanting the difference ($4.70) shipping before he will ship the item.
Whats going on .. did I do anything wrong ?? don't think so ..
Is there a fault with trade me software ?? why did it offer the item at 50c shipping if its not correct ??... OR are trade me supposed to reimburse the vendor for the difference in shipping costs ???
- Another similar case which happened to me .. I purchased a Jersey .. free shipping .. next thing I know vendor sends me an email demanding shipping costs.. Trade me sorted that one .. and it arrived eventually .... Whats going on ???

The first question, combined shipping is always per vendor, ie you buy more from the same seller and pay the combined rate. Not sure how you thought 2 different sellers possibly in 2 different parts of New Zealand could combine their shipping to you.
2nd question. Did the seller make a mistake or give a reason why they did not honour the free shipping like it sdaid on the listing? They should have either honoured what they had specified, or at least given an explanation and apology if they made a mistake and wanted to cancel it.

It is this new shipping option TM have started. shipping rate is per order or shipping rate is per item
Is does not work for me as soon as you select shipping rate is per order, it automatically adds to your shipping options on your listing "Shipping more than one item No extra charge". I can not honour that and am breaching the Fair Trading Act as I have to ask for more money to ship. I sell Glass which is heavy, have 86 listing up at the moment and can not be listing every item I have 2 or 3 times for quantity breaks.

The shipping rate per order or per item has been around for many years for sellers using My Products, but now it's rolled out to everyone, it's obviously causing a few problems for people that choose to use it. It's very straight forward to use, just pick one or the other. It only gives you the option to use it if you have a Buy Now only listing, and a qty greater than 1.
If you don't want to offer this system, just don't use it, ie either select a qty of 1 when listing, OR don't make the listing Buy Now only and then you won't have to choose an option to combine each time.

Yes it has been around years, but now in TM's wisdom, THEY have added a line to your Shipping Options of "Shipping more than one item No extra charge". I would like to see that taken off as it wasn't there before and definitely not needed now.
Your option, means I have to create more listings at more cost to me to cover the people who wish to buy more than one. I'm going to go to Facebook and see what an open forum thinks of this. In my humble opinion, is stinks.

Hi Karen. You don't need to make new listings for people that want more, just make the listing not Buy Now only ie make S/R/BN the same. People can then do like they have always done if they want more than one and didn't want to ask beforehand. Buy Now, then wait for it to automatically relist, then buy again. The message about shipping more than one item etc won't be displayed. It's only displayed when the listing is Buy Now only multi qty.
Like Lucy says above, you can make this change via a MP CSV export, edit, import, which would take less than 15 mins and all sorted. Current listings won't be able to be updated if you have sold any from the current MQLs, but they will change when the current listings end and are relistated automatically via MP.
