What happens to all the money held in Accounts of small sellers now that success fees are gone?
AnsweredNow that Trade Me has stopped success fees for small sellers, what happens to all the money in their accounts? I only have around $10 but with such a lot of members, this adds up to a considerable amount of money. Are Trade Me going to refund all the account balances? Will they transfer it it to ping so we can use it? Donate it all to charity?Or will they just keep it? I can't find any info about account balances which are likely to be unsused.

flossy63 Community SuperuserThis will not be a problem for those using the book a courier, it gets used quite quickly, as for others they may use it for up grading / promoting their listings etc. Listing above their free allowance,as for others ?, That is the Question, they will probably have to ask for a refund?,But I would just suggest, just use it to book couriers where sellers can,0

Kia Ora knitpurl1,
Success fees have only stopped for most Marketplace Listings, there are a few exemptions to this and they are still applicable to other categories like Motors & parts and accessories, House hold pets etc. There are still Listing fees which are paid from our TradeMe account, besides the Ping fee there's Afterpay, setting a Reserve price, adding a Sub Title, scheduling your own end date/time, Listing in a second category, selecting optional Extra's to promote Listing placement etc. - Cheers.

Shipping through book a courier would be another thing that uses money from your account I guess.
I have over $100 in my account and with no fees ( I don't use sub titles or set times etc) that will last me years, and I aint young anymore :-)
Knitpurl1 does raise an interesting point. Is there a way to get that money out (in my case I'd still leave $30 or so and top up if needed) or is there an option to transfer it to your ping account?

Kia Ora guitarmanno1,
There have been requests to enable a transfer of our TM account balance to our Ping accounts though currently this has never been an option, most likely for the benefit of TM accounts not falling into debit. - You need to contact TradeMe staff direct for a repayment of 'accidental overpayments' into our TradeMe accounts. - You can also add your voice to the number accruing for a self transfer of funds by using the 'Tell us what you think' pop up link near the bottom of most pages on the New Look Desktop site. - Cheers.
