Buyer ghosted me , no payment

Kia ora branden.pot, sorry to hear about your experience with this buyer. If you click into your sold listing you'll see the option to relist on the right hand side. The option to apply for a success fee refund only appears if a success fee has been charged.

Thanks. How do I report this buyer so that others are protected? I’ve already left feedback, but that doesn’t seem to be enough.

Secondly, when you make a purchase, aren’t you legally obligated to pay? What’s the point if someone can buy with no responsibility? And what’s the point of Trade Me saying that when you purchase, you are legally bound—unless that’s just for show?

You use the Chat Bot to leave a message for staff reporting the Buyer, staff will take appropriate action and monitor the account behaviour coming forward.

You can email your Buyer to remind them of their legal obligation - you can contact your local Citizens Advice Breau for advice on how to proceed if you want to enforce the sale. - Cheers.

There is little Trade Me can do if the buyer refuses to pay. You can't get blood out of a stone.
