Can you absolutely blacklist watchers?
AnsweredI have a couple of auctions that I have listed that I have had watchers that "watch" every week for months and months. The items are ones that will only be bought by those who have a special interest in them. I have reduced the price to the point that I won't go any lower as well as offering these items to these watchers at a fixed price - all of which they haven't bothered to decline, they just let expire and then watch again as soon as it is relisted. They continue to watch and it does my head in to the point that I have actually removed the items from sale. At one point, I blacklisted one watcher, but she continued to pop up as a watcher, week after week despite being blacklisted. Is there any way to absolutely remove these people from watching my auctions when clearly they have no intention of buying?

No, that is not possible. Anyone can watch, even when blacklisted.

Sometimes increasing the price might help, some people watch constantly because they believe a seller will be forced to reduce price if the item is not sold.
You can't stop people from watching your listings, I personally won't be bothered and don't care about them. I don't even do fixed price offers anymore, just relist at the same price or higher price, never lower price.

Why does it bother you? Just don't look. I have no idea who or why people watch my items. I'm only interested in sales :)

Also, just another note, some watchers opt out of the Fixed Price Offer E-Mails, so do not get notified,
so if they do not know they have been offered an item they cannot decline it either,
so not always a case of can't be bothered, It is a case of they don't know they have been offered an item,
or have not been online to see they actually have fixed price offers,
Blacklisting watchers in reality is a waste of time, and a possibility a lost sale, as may be an item on their wish list,
hoping one day they can actually buy it, but now is not the right time,
Other thing is a lot of us have 2 accounts these days, so if they find they are blacklisted on one may just use the other,
Personally I would not worry about it, you are just wasting your time, and getting stressed for no reason,
Who cares who watches your auctions, as one day they maybe your buyer, it is like window shopping,
they are doing no harm, forget about it and just carry on,

Thanks flossy you are right. In the scheme of life this is a very first world problem. One of the auctions as soon as it ended, one of the watchers send through a request to "relist the item" - I know it is her as there is only one watcher - just did my head in. The other one got to a $1 reserve and the watcher still watched it - it was never going to get any lower and she was never going to bid. Don't worry, I removed both items and have donated to the local op shop - so problem gone. Thanks for all your comments trademe community. Merry Christmas all!

Anyone on Trade Me can ask for a relist, if you go to expired auctions and find something not sold you want,
you can ask for a relist,
If it is a watcher they will generally ask for a Fixed Price offer,
So more than likely it is not your watcher requesting a relist, You are over thinking things,
and too focused on your watchers,

You've got it flossy. With TradeMe actively investing in google advertisements at the moment if the closed auction comes up on a google search people can request a relist from there. I've had relist requests without any watchers at all. So you can't deduce that with one watcher it was that person who requested it. :)
