Can't make a fixed price offer on unsold items with watchers -
Can't make a fixed price offer on unsold items with watchers - for nearly two weeks now so it can't be a scheduled site upgrade! Two messages to Trademe remain unanswered!

Kia Ora Bob,
Yes! you are correct, this is not a normal basic scheduled upgrade - TradeMe are gradually upgrading the system which is causing a disruption from the normal trading experience for a few Listings in some categories - The ability to make Fixed Price Offer's is 1 of the options they are hoping to have reinstalled in their New System early on this year 2025. - This feature is only missing for a few Listings in some categories currently, you may find other Listings have the function available.
You can follow progress on the upgrades & intended reinstated features through the help file We're upgrading some of our systems – Help - Trade Me
Unfortunately we haven't been given a timeframe outside of this at this stage However Members are being offered to look into the My Products Selling tool which is free for In-Trade & Casual Sellers being TradeMe's own inhouse product. - My Products is currently unaffected by the system upgrades, it comes with extra Features not available to the usual Listing Process like Listings don't fall off the system at 45 days, you can set auto Fixed price offers & auto Relists to mention a few. - There are many experienced Members who hold a wealth of knowledge in My Products who are happy to help get you started. - Cheers.

Thanks S for your feedback... maybe rather than waiting in hope that the 'make offer' option will soon return, I should just relist each item and mention in the 'Description' box that the 'make offer' option is broken and that they should message me if they would like a pre-closing offer!! Do we get refunds for listing fees when we can't make an offer to a watcher?
There are other problems as well - items that I have relisted but remain in the unsold category are not shown as 'relisted'.
Also I can't delete items in the 'unsold' category. Once I have ticked the item when I press delete, a further item that I don't want to delete is automatically ticked so I have to retreat and cancel the deletion.
With the huge profits Trademe makes, you would think such fixes could be managed in the 1am - 3am night shift time slot rather than in a month or two... or three... or four?!

Thank you Bob😊
I think your idea of mentioning the pre-closing offer is a good one however you will only be able to edit pricing if there are No Bids which have met the Reserve price & currently some Listings don't have the ability to add a Buy Now to an existing auction - you would want to List with a Buy Now as well as a Start price if you are infact using a Start price to kick the Bidding off. Perhaps it's better just to warn the Fixed Price Offer function is currently under reinstallation rebuild & thereby not available for you to send out for this particular Listing. Bid or Buy Now if you're keen!? - Unfortunately No! - there is no Listing Fee Refund as a result of not being able to Make an offer. - The site Terms & Conditions state not all features may be available - see the Link I've put in at the bottom of this Comment.
You can also report these faults you are finding through the 'Tell us what you think' Link on the Desktop site from the page you are on at the time you're viewing the issue on the New Look site as these reports go direct to the correct Team who look into that particular issue and enhancements on the site.
Yes! I occasionally put a message through that Link when I come across large delays in the systems response time asking if this work can be done during Afterhours!

Bob,
Are you a Casual Seller of General Marketplace Goods?
On the Price & Payment page of creating a New Listing on the Desktop site Casual Sellers of General Marketplace goods have a Make an Offer tick box which allows Buyers to do this with the option for the Seller to Accept or make a Counter offer.
For further info' Refer to: Make an Offer – Help - Trade Me - Cheers.

Hi there , I would like to know if the fixed price offer after sale ends for casual sellers is EVER going to be available again please? This feature made the majority of my sales , and I would like to know if this is permanent. Thank you :)

This has been going on for way too long, they need to change this asap!

The lack of the feature to make an offer to watchers after an auction is closed is beyond frustrating!

To Trademe's advantage, if one has no fee listing, item doesn't sell, no ability to make an offer to watchers, only alternative to list once again with Trademe taking their cut plus relisting fees.. why would they fix it in any hurry?!

Kia ora Marni, relisting is free until sold for most listings, you do have to pay again though if you have any promotional extras added, or you can remove those when you relist. You may want to look at My Products, our free to use listing tool which has the fixed price offer feature.

This is obviously a new 'feature'. It's been almost an entire year and nothing.

Also caught out by the lack of being able to send those on the watchlist a fixed price offer. I was going to offer it at a giveaway price to empty my dining room of a large teak table and 6 chairs that failed to sell with 17 watchers. I can't fit in my new property I move into in about 8 days and the moving company is not expecting it either. A free listing for another week is of ZERO value to me. Am considering giving it away to Sally Army perhaps. Lost for words that something taht existed for ages and was talked about NINE months ago as being added back in is hopeless. This is not an upgrade it's a slow moving train wreck

When you say free listing to relist instead of fixed price offer, is that the one that does not cost 55cents and is the lowest category? I just would like to know when fixed price will be back? OR if it is never coming back please Trade me. Thank you

Hi trade me , I just read on google that fixed price offer may be disabled on some accounts, is this true?

Here is our answer - From the Trade me bot - "Right now, there’s no definite word on whether the fixed price offer feature will return for casual sellers under the new KP system" Such a shame we have lost this crucial tool as a casual seller :(

EditedKia ora kgp1993, yes, fixed price offer is temporarily unavailable for some listings while we are making changes to the site. You can still offer fixed price offers through My Products, there is lots of advice and help here on Community.
Relisting is free, if you are seeing a 55c charge that is for adding gallery, which is a promotional extra - you can opt out of that on relist (photos will still show).

"temporarily unavailable for some listings" = permanently unavailable for all of mine for the last year or so...
5 -
My goodness the "make an offer" is all still not working, maybe you need better IT team, esp for the profits you are making. And, even using the quick re-list is useless, as it seems to change your dates and charges 25cents each time, which you don't see as it's quick re-list. Its all turning to custard.

It's inexcusable that this has ever happened and who is responsible for this screw up?
If other websites can do a wind / roll back to the date these changes happened that have had an adverse impact on so many, then why can't Trade Me?
Incidentally, there was a scam involving Fixed Price Offers for Trade Me back in 2009 - see New Trade Me Scam doing the rounds on Future Five . co. nz
Well worthy of a read including for those who object to the coercion to use PING and changes to payment Options...as they too are mentioned.
Trade Me can easily fix this ongoing failure of service by either designing a new Template email or using the one they previously used without issues and by rolling this back.
Come on Trade Me, Do Better.
