How can I cancel a success fee refund request and talk to a real person
AnsweredI have just had the most frustrating non helpful conversation with the trademe bot! Is there absolutely no option to contact a real person with queries or concerns?
Today I requested a success fee refund but I need to ask for this request to be cancelled. The sale has since gone through albeit very late after the closure of the auction. I have tried emailing an explanation but the supported email is unmonitored and has bounced back.
I have been burned by none responsive buyers not following through just of late but on this occasion they have now made contact. Frustratingly or coincidentally on the same day I gave them negative feedback for failing to make contact or payment and I requested the fees refund.
I want to be honest about this so how do I speak to a real person to cancel this request as the fees need to still stand?

Hello Sarah. You can do this yourself. There is a repay your success fee link for the item in question accessed from your sold page.
Unless it's another thing that has disappeared under Trade Me's improvements. While your honesty is exemplary I wouldn't be spending my time chasing them up through a convoluted contact system to repay it if you can no longer do it yourself.

Thank you have I done this as explained via the bot. I shall await the email as advised. I appreciate your help. Always best to be honest I reckon. Have a nice evening!

Thank you Callum, it appear this option is no longer available as it doesn't show in the post auction activities list. I am finding it a bit frustrating that some features which worked fine before seem to be no longer with the so called improvements. Oh well, can only do what you can do. Trying to do the right thing but will see if they contact me by email as told by the Bot.
Enjoy your evening.

Yes, the self service repay success fees was removed back in 2021. I just checked one and the initial apply for a fee refund link is there even when the refund has already been given. You click on the link 2. Let us know If you're having trouble contacting the buyer or need a success fee refund. which takes you to the refund status page, which shows the refund has been given, but there is no repay fee option anymore, so it's a contact Trademe to do it manually job.

Thanks Gary, hopefully they will email me tomorrow after I requested 'person' via the bot. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

It's still there Gary. At least it is for me. The example above was from a couple weeks ago. I didn't want to click it to test in case it happened without an "are you sure?" but I found a lower value one from 30th September. I hit the repay your success fee option. Then there is a confirmation screen as below.

Oh ok Callum. Not for me on the old desktop site. Must be just one of those weird things or amount dependant maybe. I had emails going back to 2021 asking them to retake fees as there was no do it yourself option.
I might have another one to check tomorrow as I have one that is still awaiting buyers response, that they have just paid for today.

Ok, so I do get the repay fee option although it's not a button like Callum showed, but just a link, as have just received a refund as TM didn't hear back from the buyer, although I finally did and they paid by Ping. You would think TM would be able to automatically retake the fee when a ping payment came in for an auction that has an outstanding fee refund request.

So, have repaid the success fee, and Callum FYI the next page has a confirmation button on it, so you can go there then back out.
The reason I can see that I got the repay option on this one was that I had chosen the Contact buyer option when requesting the refund rather than the This trade won't be going ahead. If you choose the This trade won't be going ahead option, you get the instant refund and then the repay fee is not displayed, as was the case in the example from the other day.
