Updating Email Address
AnsweredI'm trying to change my email address.
I select the Change Email option, enter new email/pswd and update/save.
Receive email from TM to my existing email confirming it's been updated.
When I try and Login using new email/pswd says it's incorrect.
Still shows the old email address in Account Details.
Makes no sense.

Kia Ora Ron,
The email you receive from TradeMe is the one you need to confirm your change of email on - Until you use the confirm within that email you will be needing to use your old Login details - Cheers.

Kia ora Ron, S is right you'll need to confirm your email address before it attaches to your membership. If you don't have access to your registered email address or can’t remember it, we’ll need to sort this out over the phone. You can contact us with a couple of times that’d suit you for a call.

Hi there, I have the same issue, however when I click on the link from the new email address "enable your membership" it comes up with an error saying oops, there was a slip up! Please advise, have tried multiple times

Kia Ora Jade,
Is there any possibility your new email address has been used with a TradeMe account previously?
If not can you try logging in with your new email address incase it's been verified already.
These Oops! slip up messages aren't very helpful in directing one to where the issue actually is unfortunately. - Your best option from here is to contact a TradeMe staff member directly through "Live Chat" for assistance - If you select the Contact us Link at the very bottom of any TradeMe page the Chat Tab will Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your landing page screen. - Enter in the Chat bot which comes up once opened - Talk to person - and you are taken to entering a few details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff.
The Live Chat manned hours weekdays are 8:00am - 5:30pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pm- Cheers.0 -
Hi,
Re email address
I have changed the email address on my account . It works to log in BUT whenever I try to email a seller to arrange payment it only gives the old , now obsolete address and won't allow change . This means that the seller may be trying to email me and I don't receive it . I have rung to sort this out but all they did was confirm the new email was attached to my account.
Please help.
Paula

Kia Ora Paula,
If you go to 'My TradeMe' which email address comes up under your Account Details?
Where are you selecting to email your Sellers from which is seeing your old email address appearing?
I email Sellers from the Purchase Confirmation email sent to me by TradeMe which doesn't show my email address on it so it goes through the email address I'm sending from.

Paula, it sounds like you have your old email address set as your default email address rather than your new one so when you click an email link it is bringing up your old email address. Not sure what your email provider or address is, but best thing to do would be to start your email program or webmail and check it shows your new email address as the sign in for it. If it shows your old address, then sign out of that program and sign in again using your new email address. Once signed in on the new address you may be prompted to set this address as your default email. If there is no prompt, leave the program/webpage open and google how to set my default email address (and add the name of your email provider after that eg gmail yahoo, hotmail, outlook etc. Once you have your new email set as the default mail handler, any email link you click on emails or webpages will open up using your new email address.

S Community SuperuserKia Ora Paula,Your Device is opening your old email address as it will be set as the Default email, you will need to point your device to open your emails in your new email address. - Your email service provider will be able to help you do this if you are unsure. - TradeMe Sellers will be receiving the new email address you set up within TradeMe. - Cheers.0
